Moroccan authentic gastronomy in a historical ambiance.

This is a small restaurant with room for around 25 guests. The owner cooks himself and has no fixed menu. The food will be offered according to what is available of the best ingredients. This is a restaurant on the finer side of the scale, often catering
This restaurant is a true find and really above everything else you can find in Larache in terms of service and food. The food here reminds me of a top notch restaurant in Europe where attention to detail is essential. There are not many tables and reservation could be necessary. They are open for lunch and dinner. If you have special requests you can tell them a day in advance and they will make to order the loveliest tapas or dinners we had in Morocco. You will not find anything as good as this in LARACHE!

We stopped in Larache on the way to Fes and this restaurant was recommended for lunch by several merchants. I'm not a fish enthusiast but nonetheless , we were lured by the entoxicating aromas from the small but quaint little diner. The staff was most accomodating and congenial. I asked for a white wine and stated they could choose for me as I knew little about Moroccan "white" wine. The waiter smiled and said it was "Islamic" or something along that line and I laughed like the goose I was. They all joined in. What a wonderful staff!! When the fish arrived, I bravely tasted it and then couldn't shovel it in fast enough!!! INCREDIBLE right down to the last little fishie on my plate. It was quite a selection if I might add. The cheque was MOST reasonable as we had 4 courses for about 10 Euros!! That wouldn't buy me a bowl of soup in Toronto. I gave them a 5 Euro tip and the head waiter returned to say it was too much. Then he saw another 5 Euros on the table that my travelling friend had left and repeated that it was a lot of money. We felt it was appropriate for the quality of the meal and the service and stated as much. He thanked us both most humbly. What a grand start to our travels in Morocco....HONEST individuals vs. creeps from so many other places we'd been to in Europe. And most of Morocco was similar!!!
We have just had 3 weeks in Larache, due to our car breaking down,so we have sampled most of the eating establishments. All, without exception, have been a positive experience. The Commercial is well located to watch the world go by. It's cheap and cheerful. Soup and bread for 4dhiram each! The menu is limited and often items aren't available, but it's always wholesome and tasty.

It's a popular place where taking a good charcoal grilled meat like lamb or some steak. They have also grilled fishes but it's a pity because they don't know to much how to cook fresh fishes. They offer also salads and chips, but I was very dissapointed for receiving frozen chips instead a non processed product from the area.Service was very slow. The map situation is the Tripadvisor map is wrong, check the Google one.
