We enjoyed our lunch here. The stuffed mushrooms were topped with melted cheese and were delicious but a little too cheesy. The Greek salad was very good. Along with bread and olive oil this was a very satisfying meal. House red and Rose were both very drinkable and the service was friendly and helpful.

Returning to Kato Zakros we decided to try a taverna we sipeed the last time.location and atmosphere were great bit unfortunately food was not up to par.The greek salad was mundane and the Tzakiki lacked the garlic sting.the restaurant offered a small plate with different starters of whuch I can point out the eggplant with meet - Delicious. The Roasted Pork was ok but a little dery and the Briam (mix of eggplants and zucchini) was....nice.Expect a slow sevice. The Chocolat Banna crepe for deserts was....ok.

When you walk along the road with the restaurants perhaps Glaros isn't the most chic of the possibilities, but it more than makes up for that with the standard of the food and the friendly and helpful owners. We ate here every night when we stayed in Kato Zakros (and had a couple of lunches too!) and were never disappointed. The food is all freshly prepared by Giorgos, with delicious, fresh vegetables that he grows himself. Christina is more than happy to recommend dishes of the day and can explain any specialities. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended - we will be back!

Kato Zakros is one of the best places we visited this time in East Creta. The road to arrive is very hard but the result is magic. We want to thanks Nikos for his help and for his sympathy and kindness and we thanks all the staff of Akrogiali too, they manege their work in a very friendly and kind way and we appreciated them very much, we wish them all the best and hope to meet them again in the future.
