Returned to this Italian restaurant with friends for Valentine's Day. This restaurant is well rated and their pasta is delicious. The free appetizers are also delicious as are the cookies and the limoncelos that are served after the meal. However, this restaurant needs a good cleaning. The paper lamps hanging from ceiling are dirty and dead flies have been stuck to them for more than 4 years. The windows are extremely dirty. Everything seems very old and a nice redo would spruce up the place and give it a nice clean look. Until this is done, a bunch of us are no longer going back.

Very nice place to eat. The menu is big but not everything is available. Only 1 out of 4 meals tasted good. Very good staff and service though.

A very pleasant surprise among many mediocre restaurants.Authentic Spanish restaurant, with the Spanish owners. Quality food, excellent and original paella, that is a rarity find outside Spain. Very nice decor, clean facilities. Right on the beach with a private sitting area. Upper deck even has a jacuzzi- could be an awesome place to have a small party. Overall, a great choice, on this trip!

I had been a few times and was never terribly impressed with their entrees. The free appetizers that they bring out are better than anything else they serve, actually and usually include grilled and marinated peppers, eggplant, a little mozarella and tomstor, some bread and olive oil. The last 3 or 4 times I tried to get shrimp or lobster they were close early due to lack of ingredients. What kind of restaurant doesn't have an adequate supply of food?

This was our one "nice" dinners and we were not disappointed. It was super busy and it took a while to get our food. Our server recognized that and gave us a complimentary glass of wine. I would definitely recommend the grilled seafood /pasta dishes.

I have been vacationing in Juan Dolio the past five years. Every time I dine in El Meson restaurant. The presentation, quality, and taste of the food is excellent. They have good portions and value is worth it.
