Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Glastonbury. Generally a quiet place graced with lovely terrain for strolling, Glastonbury is very busy in the summer because of its music festival. Best known for contemporary music, the festival has attracted almost 200,000 people in recent years (whereas Glastonbury's full-time population is only 9,000 or so). There are a number of historical monuments to see in the area, including Glastonbury Lake Village, Glastonbury Abbey and the Somerset Rural Life Museum. We can't say that the weather is always good, but on a sunny day you can't go wrong!

We had less time in Glastonbury than we had hoped, so I checked Trip Advisor and booked with only a couple of hours' notice. The place was busy, has a good atmosphere, varied clientele, friendly and efficient service and a good drinks list. The food was plentiful and enjoyable. My partner thoroughly enjoyed the burger and I the entree-sized Meze board, which was too much as the main meal for me. It was filled to overflowing with delicious dips, spreads, veggies and bread.Despite this, I managed to fit in an Affogato, one of my favourite after-dinner options, which I only tried as I had never seen it offered with chocolate ice cream before.I enjoyed it very much and found the combination of chocolate ice cream and Frangelico delightful. The best meal we had on our first trip to Devon and Cornwall.

2012 saw the arrival of Tamburino in Street, bringing the town a true taste of Italy with our wonderful traditional cuisine and vibrant atmosphere.Owners Domenico is from Sicily, where passion runs deep. No more so than the passion for food and hospitalit
I eat here as often as I can. Especially with my daughters (age 5 and 8). The food is delious. The service is exceptional! There's a wide choice of classic Italian dishes. Unlike the chain restaurants, this is good traditional Italian food. Everything is made fresh - you can see in to the kitchen. My children are always made so welcome. They are fussed by the staff and given balloons. Sat outside on a sunny afternoon with a glass of wine and a pizza Gordon 1921, I couldn't be happier!!

Great little place in narrow side street. We had booked ahead but tables were available. Nice local waiter but the owners are Greek and it shows. We had perhaps the best tsatziki and calamari ever. Specials were stifado and kleftiko - both of which were superb. Both white and red house wine were very good. Excellent value and would go again when in the city.
