Reviews on Mediterranean food in Garrucha, Province of Almeria, Spain. Garrucha is a municipality of Almería province, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. Garrucha is a seaport of south-eastern Spain on the Mediterranean Sea and the right bank of the river Antas. In 1998 the town had a population of 5000. The harbor of Garrucha, which is defended by an eighteenth-century castle, affords shelter to large ships, and is the natural outlet for the commerce of a once thriving agricultural and mining district. Garrucha had, at the beginning of the twentieth century a considerable trade in lead, silver, copper, iron, esparto grass and fruit, but now the only export from its harbour is gypsum mined in Sorbas, with a million metric tonnes being exported annually . Besides cargo ships, the port is home to a small fishing fleet and has approximately 300 moorings for leisure boats.

Nice setting. Food choices adequate but you need to enjoy seafood.Good wine list and reasonable prices.Service appeared to be a little up and down, language difficulties made staff appeR rude. Not good value for food, meals pretty basic . We would not return.

Visited here on the August 15 Holiday without making a reservation and luckily were given a table right on the beach line. Nearly all the other tables were reserved. The food and service excellent taking into account how busy it became. We had Mussels, chicken breast and the amazing squid cooked in olive oil, which itâs a good job the waitress told us it was enough for two as it was a whole squid with potatoes served a lovely olive oil sauce. Whatâs not to love, a good meal, sea view and people watching!

Stumbled across this restaurant for lunch. It is both a restaurant and a fishmongers. Everything we had was very well cooked and delicious; red prawns, grilled squid, roe and a tomato salad with bonito (cured/smoked tuna). Very much recommend appears to open until 4pm then shuts until 8pm for dinner. Very much worth a visit.

I would take these couple of bad reviews with a pinch of salt as I have frequented this restaurant on so many occasions I canât remember how many but a lot!The service is always impeccable and the food is always hot and delicious. It looks really posh and expensive if you look through their windows but trust me itâs very reasonably priced .As a veggie I normally go for a pizza or the pasta , itâs great having choices !Seriously try this restaurant donât be out off by a couple of bad reviews as they donât do it justice. If anyone reads my advice you know I donât give praise if itâs not due, this place deserves a visit .grazie Mille,a presto,un saludo Fran

Reataurant full of charm. Good seasonal food.
This hidden gem, set in the heart of the small Hotel Tikar, is certain to please. Arrive early for a drink in the small and charming poolside garden â and then find everything equally perfect from then on.The restaurant is quiet, beautiful and attended by the owner and staff with great efficiency. The menu is comprehensive enough to satisfy everyone, yet short enough to know that what arrives on your plate has been cooked fresh and with care. We found the salmon, chicken stuffed with Roquefort cheese and pork wellington beyond comparison. And the set menu price â though more than you would pay for ordinary fare in an ordinary setting â good value. Our companions were âbigâ in the world of household-name TV cookery programmes. Their verdict? âWeâll be backâ. Enough said.

If you want tapas or something simple like pasta, chicken etc this is a good place to eat. Great view overlooking the beach, met does get busy late evenings and Spanish lunchtimes. A little English is spoken but never a problem and the staff are friendly.

Whilst specialising on fried fish this place also does much more, with even a few veggie options. - fried aubergine was delicious. The clams were fresh and lovely. Calamaritoes wonderful. Efficient and friendly service. All very reasonably priced.

Nice place, good service, very limited menu, fish as a starter and a main course, only one dressing/sauce, just tomatoes as a vegetable, as dessert prepackaged icecream out of the freezer. That is all right but prices are comparable to Boracay, the restaurant next door and Boracay has more style and more choice. So, the fish at El Espigon was very good but we prefer Boracay.
