I had intended to go to Bellini but it was closed so I booked here instead. I had mussels to start & followed by veal scaloppini, washed down with red wine. I finished with coffee with complimentary liqueur. All in all excellent food good service, reasonable price. I was glad Bellini was shut & will certainly go back.

Traditional Spanish tapas bar. Fresh food every day and fantastic wine, cocktails and gin. Very relaxed atmosphere, as if you were in a tapas bar in Spain.
We enjoyed a variety of tapas dishes. All were nice enough...but portions are not large enough for £11 for each item. Struggled to get enough for 3 out of the amount in the dish. Great meatballs and tortilla...but again...too small in portion size fod the full ration. The special rice wasn't special and was too salty. Nice wine and service. I would go back but the music was way too loud and we were shouting to each other.

First time we have eaten in this Italian restaurant and it was absolutely lovely. The staff were very professional, very helpful and very obliging, nothing was too much trouble. Our meal was delicious and our requests for changes were granted. So many thanks . The place was extremely busy which is an excellent reflection of its high standards. Look forward to a return visit. No hesitation recommending this restaurant. Many thanks to the owner who is a very hands on person ensuring everything was up to standard. Thanks to all the staff for making it a super evening

If you want to enjoy fresh quality food in a typical Italian family-style atmosphere, Ciao Sorrento is the place for you. Ciao Sorrento prides itself on using ingredients bought daily and prepared to an extremely high, consistent standard. Consistency is
Typical Italian (authentic) feel, lovely house red wine, service was very quick and very good with a full house. Food was nothing short of majestic - absolutely fantastic. Baked aubergine starter was out of this world. Tiramisu brilliant. Probably the best Italian in the city. We will be back.

We had a two day break in Dundee and on our first night had planned to eat at a different restaurant on the same street, however we could not get in at 5pm so we decided to try Bellini. Wow, so glad we did as the food was absolutely amazing. We both had two courses from the pre-theatre menu which was excellent value. The starters were huge and beautifully served. For the main course my hubby had pasta and I had the baked sea bass which was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent too and our only slight criticism was the main course was served more or less as soon as we had finished the starter. Ideally we would have liked a few minutes. However, overall fantastic food and lovely wine and a reasonable bill at the end. Next time we are in Dundee we will definitely return. Thank you.

What a fabulous place. Refreshing to go somewhere that tables aren't cramped together first of all. A warm welcome. Great menu and amazing drinks selection, gin fans would be in heaven! The dishes we had were delicious, I particularly loved the pepper stuffed with crab meat and blue cheese. But is was all superb. Staff were fantastic, friendly efficient and knowledgeable and seemed to care if you were enjoying your meal.Would recommend highly and we'll be back. Thank you.

Visited with my wife and my parents on a Friday night. The restaurant itself is kind of in a converted basement / ground floor flat in the university area of the city. It's a good 30 minute walk from the city centre so is a bit out of the way. However don't let this put you off. The food is very fresh and the staff are nice. It seems that the owner is the chef and is constantly checking on the restaurant floor whilst cooking (a very busy guy)However the restaurant has a nice homely feel about it, although not cheap, it's not overly expensive and the food quality is good

Fantastic night celibrating my early retirement. We sat down to the 5 course meal and each setting tasted great. Once Nick the owner heard it was my retirement he told the staff to keep filling my wine glass. Top bloke. Superb host.I really enjoyed the meat portions but all courses had their own individual tastes. Fresh food served in a great atmosphere. You cannot fault this restaurant

Sol y Sombra has been Dundeeâs most popular tapas bar since it opened in 2011. Born out of a lifelong love for Spanish food and culture, we have created a menu of fresh, authentic and simple tapas. The aim is to recreate the feel of a typical Spanish fami
Booked for 8.30pm last night. Did not get seated until well after this. I advised I did not eat certain things and these were given to me not once but twice so that was 2 dishes I could not eat. My friend has a peanut allergy but was not asked about allergies until after a bowl of peanuts was out on to the table. Upon checking our receipt we have been charged for 8 drinks rather than 4! The waitresses kept leaning over us to remove bowls of food when we had not yet finished. We had the table until 10.30pm but 30 minutes in we had dishes thrown at us and we had asked for the bill. We were offered dessert menus but they never materialised. I have been to this restaurant many times but I have to say the service was appalling last night so we wonât go again.
