Sophisticated decor with lovely array of pinxtos. Sitting on stools facing the bar gives a view of everything happening. Nice wine and good prices. Just would have been better if we had not received a 88 euro parking ticket. There are few places to park and we did not see any signs indicating we couldnât. At least we walked along the water to the Bay of Biscay.

I stayed here for four days to visit the village and environs, including several lovely walks along the flysch and the Camino de Santiago. A peaceful and comfortable hotel, with lots of charm and charming hosts.
The three of us ate dinner at this restaurant. The black rice with squid and prawns was amazing. The sweet potato with avocado and chick pea was very tasty and healthy. The pizza was good quality. Cheesecake for was very good. Also the olives and warm bread were also very welcome additions to an all round fab meal. We would very much recommend this as a culinary option when in this region. The staff are friendly and the prices offer great value.

The location looks quite inviting, the menu is diversified and offers local cuisine. We took the fact that is was attended by Spanish families for a token for good food but unfortunately the dishes were not well cooked and the service was quite unefficient. So not really a good recommendation in this town.

I went for the first time invited by a friend. In the very center of Mutriku, a small fishers town, Santi and wife have started managing this restaurant.Santi, the chef who comes from Ondarroa, knows perfectly every fish and seafood. He recommends with deep knowledge of products. We were offered an enormous oyster called flower oyster, the biggest one you can imagine. When you put it into your mouth you can feel the whole sea in it!Then a salad with lobster from Ondarroa and a pink sauce, lettuce and palmito. What a pleasure again!Best service is offered by Maite, always with her smile and very kind. Then we asked for turbot but we were suggested to taste portions of an 8 Kg turbot, which has a better flavour. It came with vegetables if the season and was really delicious. Our wine was a white one from Ribeiro. Too light for me and extremely easy to drink. Finally we took dessert and mine was home made curd. My friend choosed âgoxuaâ.I strongly recommend this restaurant if you like the freshest fish and seafood. It is not the cheapest one but itâs worth the visit.

Local with ample room for 70 people with attractive tapas bar and private terrace with seating for about 80 people a day menu, special menu, pilgrim menu and specialty meats and grilled fish
We found the tratoria, only a short walk from the town square. Upon arrival we were informed of the daily menu, which was either fish or meat. We chose a fish and tomato salad, a bottle of white whine and for main course the fish. Both the food and wine quality were great. What came as an unpleasant surprise was that the fish (locally caught) was 65 euro by itself, quite expensive for a local produce. You can say this was our own fault, after all we didn't ask for the price beforehand, but still I believe you may expect more reasonable prices for local produce. Service was good though (we speak Spanish and the owner was friendly and adequate) and the food was nice, it's just the price that made the experience a bit bittersweet

I could write this review in Spanish, but I wanted to give provide an English review since this restusrant doesn't have any. Staying outside of Deba, we went into town to look for somewhere to eat. We walked the entire (very small) downtown area and found few choices with little of gastronomic interest. We finally settled on Calbetón. We decided to eat in the restaurant area (comedor) which is in a separate room beyond the bar and kitchen. It was small, initimate, and beautifully decorated. As it was a Tuesday evening, we had the place all to ourselves for most of our meal. I ordered hake (similar to cod) covered with tiny squid & mushrooms in a light butter sauce @ 16⬠-- outstanding! My husband had a sirloin steak served with a delicious reduction sauce & grilled peppers @ 15â¬. We each had a glass of a local Crianza wine. To finish off our meal, my husband had espresso & I had flan served with strawberry gelato. The total with tax was â¬48 -- very reasonable for such a quality meal served by a gracious host in an inviting atmosphere.

Would have given zero stars if I could. Were there in July 2018 at 7:30 pm at the height of the tourist season: 60% of the fish on the a la carte menu was not available, had octopus that was decent, but twice as expensive as the same dish of the same quality in this region. My wife had fixed menu (which the chef did not offer, we had to ask for it additionally): 3 out of 4 fish choices were not available. Tuna in the salad was about school cafeteria quality, the worst salad of that kind that we ever had, and we had tens of those in the North of Spain. The only available fish was named dorada in the menu, but had nothing to do with actual dorada which is a tasty fish, instead it was a thick God know which species filet that was previously frozen and tasted like cardboard. No amount of friendliness from the chef can compensate for bad food, unfortunately.

Since it opened in the 19th century, Salegi Restaurant has been run by the same family, carrying out a fantastic service. A wide variety of dishes are included in the menu, achieving the right balance and harmony between Granny Floraâs traditional recipes
The food is excellent, and the service too. The chuleton is delicious, also the jamón ibérico and the fish. Markel F good morning and thank you for your opinionWe are happy to meet you and help you improve. We will be happy to greet you in future visits.Greetings from the Salegi Jatetxea team.
