We were celebrating my friend's birthday and thought this place would be perfect since we loved the one in Narragansett so much. As you enter, you are greeted with a beautiful chandelier and the atmosphere was just perfect. We were ushered upstairs which has walls to wall art. So the evening was going to be great!!! I ordered a pumpkin martini which was out of this world. Then we ordered, our entrees. I ordered the mussels in white wine sauce, my husband ordered the white fish clam chowder, others had calamaries and salad. The clam chowder was very delicious, so was the calamari and the white white sauce of the mussels. However when I started digging into the shells to eat my mussels, I must have tried 10 shells and no mussels. So I asked for a new plate with mussels to which the waiter came back to tell me that mussels are out of season...well take it off of the menu!!!! I was so looking forward to dipping my break in the wine sauce...it was sooo good but alas I had to choose another appetizer so I went with the next best thing....the chowder. Plenty of fish chunks, clams, potato and very creamy. So entrees have to be so much better.... well not really... I ordered the stuffed Salmon which was very blend, my girlfriend had the stuffed chicken which wasn't any better, my husband had the stuffed lobster which, he said, was delicious and someone else ordered a paella for two that could feed the table of 10 and was blend as well. The was wasn't lost because of the company and most of the food wasn't bad but the reason I gave that rating is because we had to wait for sooo long for the waiter in between request. We needed to order a drink, wait...we needed to bag our food, wait...then he came and started to pack 1 dinner, then left to tend another table....came back 15minutes later just toeave again. In the meantime we asked for the bill which never came then he came with the birthday cake we brought then brought the bill much later. We started at 5pm and didn't leave until after 8pm and mostly it was waiting on the waiter. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed.

An inspired Italian restaurant, our focus at Avvio is on fresh, simple ingredients. Prepared with distinct, yet traditional cooking techniques, our menu features Italian classic dishes along with true Neapolitan pizzas, fresh Italian salads and wood-fire
Atmosphere is lovely. Busy bar scene. Immaculate, excellent service. I never had to request more water. Bread sticks and bread upon request. Choices for vegan and gluten free. Handicap accessible. Veal parmigiana was very good. Wonderful sauce/gravy for the pasta. The Pasta Con Pollo was good, but was weak on the chicken portion. Chicken pieces were very small and thin; much was over cooked.Thank you Bobbie. Thanks for the very kind review and we are glad you enjoy it here at Avvio. We are always glad to know our service makes a good impression. We will share your feedback on the Pasta con Pollo with our culinary team. They are always listening to guest feedback to find out how we can keep getting better. We hope you come back and join us again. Gratefully,Raul EstevesGeneral Manager

We are on our HOLIDAY BREAK! We will be back on January 9th, 2018. Thank you for a wonderful year and we look forward to serving you in 2018!
I brought two colleagues here from a nearby conference, with high expectations from prior reviews. Honestly, for the price, and compared with many other great restaurant options in the area, I wasnât impressed. Service was very nice, but the food didnât stand up. Salad was good, but my pizza was soggy, salty, and way overpriced. Wonât be back.

Efendi's serves Turkish specialties and Mediterranean food. My husband and I chanced on it on a road trip. My husband had absolutely some of the best lamb shish-kabobs we've ever tried -- tender and beautifully spiced -- and I had marvelous eggplant parmesan. The waitress was friendly and the food took the time it would take to cook -- in other words, it wasn't half-cooked in the kitchen before we ordered. A memorable meal, and we'll drive out of our way to go there again.
