Early Friday night dinner. Glad we booked a table, place is very popular and for good reason. Grilled haloumi sensational. Cauliflower delicious. Also had the lamb and carrots. Yum. Generous size chocolate and banana cigar for dessert. Italian wine... Italian gin ..... very good service. What more can I say, loved it.

Will never go back Arrogant waitresses not friendly at all !! Had prawns which I donât think were Australian prawns and had my first ever food reaction in my life ,, the cocktails are Not cocktails they are just spirits with a mixer ,, what a long journey for a waste of time !!Hi jayr658,Thank you for taking your time to write us a review. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience here at Woodpeckers. We are disappointed that you have decided to leave us your complaints here, despite our efforts to accommodate your requests - basically customising a pasta of your own with cream, chilli and seafood, the waitress was also going back from the table to kitchen multiple times to make sure that the chef would be okay to make an exception and cook a dish that was not on the menu, checking with your table a few times throughout the evening and asked if things were enjoyable; yet we did not manage to get any feedback that could help us get things fixed on the spot for you.Cocktails that you've ordered, Tennessee Mule and Sex on the beach, were both made by the bar manager with over 10 years experience with our popular recipe using juices, liquors, vodka, ginger beer. Could you please let us know what else were you hoping to have included in the cocktails? We look forward to your response.Regards,The Woodpeckers Team

My wife and IU visited for a midweek meal. The restaurant can get busy on weekends but arriving at 18:00 the restaurant was not crowded. Parking is an issue, however, as the only off-street parking is at the nearby pub. Decor outside is mid-1930's French brothel but inside it is tastefully laid out in typical Mediterranean style with plenty of space between tables. We sat outside, which maybe because of the time was noisy from busy Mill Point Road. The food was great overall and costs are mid range ($132 for two plus drinks). we had a couple of salads, calamari, red emperor fillet and porcini risotto. All were good but the fish was a bit lonely on the plate and could have done with some potato of some sort. Service was not so good, with a mix up in the order and slow waitress. There is a good wine list, pricey at the top end but includes a selection of Italian wines. The ground floor seems to have good access for wheelchairs but we did not check the loos.Overall.worth a visit.Hi and thank you for your thoughts and our apologies for the error, we are endeavoring to limit errors. If you decide to return there is Sopranos customer parking available behind the restaurant.RegardsTeam Sopranos

Atmospheric spot - nicely fitted out interior and some outside seating. Very European....Food was excellent. We had the croquettes, the mushrooms, anchovies, beef and empanadas. All were sensational - beef was beautifully cooked, sauce with empanadas was fruity - couldnât get enough. Service was efficient and friendly. In keeping with the Spanish flavours they only had Estrella beer. The one downside: not a great beer and I swerved it for a Spanish red. A guest craft beer would be a nice addition.

Authentic family run Italian restaurant trattoria. Wood-fired pizzas, fresh house-made pasta and desserts, grill meat and seafood dishes as well. Fully licenced + BYO wine. Dine in or Take away.
Great food but very disappointing service. As others have said, we had to wait for ages just to get our drinks and menus. My pizza was perfect but, by the time it arrived, I was pretty much over the whole thing. Pity because this used to be a favourite of ours and I doubt we'll go back.

Gusto means "hearty enjoyment of food" in Italian. Gusto Food is certainly enjoyable, it has a few nice touches that make it stand out, like the free water with fresh fruit slices. The coffee is very good, I had a Greek custard slice that was very palatable. The browinies are also popular. Gusto Food takes reservations, it also has outside seating Gusto Food is in Angelo Street, near the corner of Coode Street, nexgt to Lilypilly Florist
