Reviews on Mediterranean food in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. Historic Charleston is bursting with Southern charm and hospitality. The city feels a bit like it’s suspended in time, thanks to its antebellum architecture and surrounding plantation landscapes. Take in incredible views of the Battery and the French Quarter as you stroll the Waterfront Park, then become inspired by the cultivated beauty of the gardens at Middleton Place. At night, try a ghost tour for an introduction to the spooky side of the city.

The food here is top notch. The bread and oil. I really want them to bottle that oil and sell it somewhere in town. It is amazing. We had appetizers and entrees and they were all delicious. Attention to detail. Quality ingredients. Cooked to perfection. We loved everything we tried. The waitstaff is attentive and hard-working. The ambiance was very nice. We definitely will be back.

2 of our party had been here previously and really enjoyed the food. We visited Sunday Sept 16th, having made a reservation for 7:30pm. One of the servers was attentive, the other was rather blasé about hospitality and not particularly helpful with respect to portions, number of pitas that would be good with meal etc. The balila was tasty and enjoyable, and the cheese plate was pretty good. The spinach wraps were ok. The falafels were like pucks and one our party sensed a fishy taste. We all agreed that the falafels were the worst weâd ever had. On reflection we probably should have said something. Not sure if this was just an off night for this restaurant but it was very disappointing and did not meet expectations.

Stella's is proud to serve rustic, modern Greek cuisine.
First night in town was looking forward to eating here. Nice older building with very friendly service. Starters were nice. Shared grilled octopus outstanding! Grape leaves very good. Many more options we could have tried. Mains were good. Tile fish very good. Lamb shank and pork chop were very nice as well. Portions are on the big side. Wine was a concern. We selected the featured red of the day. We are not big fans of Greek reds but decided to try. We ordered a bottle. The first service was two half empty bottles. They happily returned with a sealed bottle. The second bottle resulted in the two half bottles! We we state we preferred a sealed bottle we were informed that there was no more! Early in the evening and out of the featured wine of the day. Left a funny taste about it.

My wife and I recently visited for lunch and enjoyed it. The atmosphere is open and comfortable. My wife really enjoyed the local PEACH SALAD made with shishito peppers, crispy cornbread, tahini dressing, candied coriander with added avocado. This salad is light so highly recommend adding a protein. And the serving of thinly sliced peaches was sparse so my wife asked for additional slices which added greatly to the salad. Staff was very accommodating. And I really enjoyed the ANSON MILLS RICE BOWL with poached egg, seasonal vegetables, almond butter, turmeric onion and added avocado. Unique combination of flavors was delicious. The serving size is moderate but filling; recommend adding a protein. My poached egg was slightly over cooked so missed some of the intended runny flavor. And a wonderful surprise was dessert from the fantastic pastry kitchen. We ordered the box of cookies which were absolutely delicious and works of art. Five big varied cookies ranging from chocolate fig; moon cake; blueberry cookie thatâs too good to describe; a mocha chocolate and a simple sugar lemon. Coffee or teaâperfect. Bring some home or make friends and bring a box to someone you love. This place is a gourmet delight but down to earth in its delivery. Service was ok and could use some fine tuning. Nonetheless, I highly recommend.
