We came to our hotel at 5 oâclock in the afternoon and looked on Tripadvisor for an advice where to go for dinner. This place was 6 km away so we drove there. A small village with a beautiful castle under which is this small restaurant. Staff spoke English and gave us advice what is good or special. We had a lovely dinner (best antipasti we had so far in Tuscany, ragu, lasagne, beef steak, homemade pasta with deer meat), but the highlight of the dinner was home made tiramisu. Our poor son gave us taste and both, my husband and I, had two spoons because it was so delicious and truly, we have never had a better one. Their lemon ice cream is also worth it. And as the highlight of the night we walked up couple of stairs and got an amazing view of the countryside with sunset. What else to wish for. We totally recommend this place and hopefully, we will come back.

Since 2004 in Ciciano, is situated between the villages of Chiusdino and Montieri, the âVal di Merseâ (river Merse Valley) and the âColline Metallifereâ (Metalliferous Hills), on the antique Massetana, the road that joined Siena to Massa Marittima and the
want something good & with a little more variation to the traditional tuscan menu...well this is the place to go. Have been visiting and working near here over the last 10 years and found this treasure when searching the area. The lovely maitre d is Dominic and her swiss born mother cooks...do try the drunken chicken and the mushroom & chickpea soup..sounds better in Italian, funghi e ceci..oh and the chocolate dessert. ! its a delightful place to find good fare and wine with great hosts..we named it 'dont touch the baby' and as a precurser as them how that came about. have fun.. PeterDear Peter!!!thank you, thank you thank you!!!!:-) it has been really very nice to have you again and again as guest!! grazie for this very nice review!!hope to see you soon againDominique

Whilst staying in the area we visited this place three times and we had been in previous years.Eating outside in the lovely street is a wonderful setting and typically Italian. The owner is very welcoming but it is the food which makes visitors flock here .Nothing fancy just simple honest Tuscan cuisine at its best . Try zucchini, the pasta dishes and the wild boar stew. Puddings are great too. Good local wines .A must visit if in the area but be sure to book .Canât wait to return.

Nice restaurant with stunning view from the terrace, typical tuscan dishes cooked with love, biological vegetable garden and products to taste
Our first night in Montiguidi so myself and my girlfriend thought we would give this place a try as it is walking distance from our villa! The menu was in Italian with no english translation however the waitress spoke very good english and was more than happy to help. I ended up ordering two fillet steaks cooked to how we like topped with green salad leaves and Parmigiano-Reggiano, I also ordered a side serving of deep fried vegetables and a glass of red wine. The steaks came out with no fries or sauces as I would normally expect in the UK. Literally just the steak on a plate that had been lightly seasoned. This was such a nice thing to see, it allows you to really get a flavour of the steak rather than it being masked by your standard peppercorn sauce. This steak was by far one of the best I've ever eaten, very well cooked to my liking (medium rare) and just falls apart in your mouth. The deep fried vegetables was also a first for me. They were very nice too, ill be attempting to make them when I get back home. We both liked the restaurant very much. Nice atmosphere and great service, ill definitely be eating here again before we leave!

I cannot recommend this place apart from the wonderful views. You need to book to get on the pergola but they really pack everyone in so you can hear others conversations. The service was ok and the food distinctly average. This is a tourist place but if you want really good Tuscan cuisine look elsewhere.

Really enjoyable meal at La Dispensa. Menu is in Italian but easy to read. The taglietta di manza with truffles was without doubt the best secondi plati of my week in Tuscany. Run by two friendly Italian ladies. Very reasonable and in a beautiful location. If your staying in or around Pomarance this is a must!

Went here having read all the positive reviews on Trip Advisor; they were not wrong. The setting is lovely and feels almost like you are being welcomed into someone's back garden. The food was amazing but there did appear to be a tourist menu, and one for locals as we were not offered the pasta starter, however I have no complaints. We found the staff friendly and fast and it was great to be shown the (huge) steak before it was cooked on the open fire. Without Trip Advisor we would never have found this as from the outside it doesn't look like a restaurant.

Ate twice here... good food.. not big portions, but well cooked & great flavours. Ate outdoors, eating & people watching- as its situated in the village square. Attentive service. Average prices.

Very typical food for the region starting from antipasti and ending by a soup of the day. Very tasty and quite a good value for money.
