The reason for my above title is very simple, dear foreign visitor: speaking Spanish is essential if you are going to enter this restaurant as no-one speaks any foreign language and the menu is not translated. This restaurant, and indeed the whole of Caravaca de la Cruz reminded me of my first trips to this country 25 years ago, when all activity in the streets ceased at lunch time, and the only place to take refuge from the intense midday heat was in a restaurant or a café full of the locals with whom back then I just could not communicate. Our experience here began in a great manner: two of our Spanish speaking party asked twice for the menu (written version), but this was given to us verbally by the waiter Francisco, who quickly, quietly and efficiently named the all the dishes available that day, twice over.We started off with a dish of very tender Jamon de Bellota, a dish of local cheese, and a salad, all shared between us and washed down with a bottle of Castillo Luzon from the local Jumilla wine region. Our main course consisted of the local specialty lamb, and fish dishes. All produce was fresh - not a single frozen chip to be seen. For deserts we went for the excellent house âTarta de tres chocolatesâ or local fruit. The three course meal with wine, water and rounded off with properly prepared espressos came to 30 euros per person. Fantastic value. The restaurant décor is intensely Spanish, decorated with signed pictures of bull fighters (there is a beautiful bull ring in Caravaca), a picture of the Athletico de Madrid football team and other Hispanic mementos. A great Spanish backdrop for a great Spanish meal.

Typical restaurant in the heart of old city, select and tapas, rice dishes, living room with capacity for 35 people (private rooms), varied and economic letter.
Just amazing by far the best food I have eaten in Spain in the year I have lived here. Not overpriced either. Great service . we hardly spoke Spanish and they didnât speak much English but this didnât stop us communicating and having a brilliant-time.

El Molino del Rio is a charming countryside hotel situated in the picturesque setting of the Rio Argos Canyon (Lower Cretaceous), at the foot of the mountains Sierra del Gavilan, a protected natural area in the northwest of Murcia, and near to the Natural
We had dinner at the restaurant and it was excellent. There are several different areas where you can eat inside and outside and the venue would be a good place for a romantic meal. Dinner was a series of artfully presented small plates from the salad to the desert. My favorite was the carrillada (pig's cheeks) that was so tender it melted in your mouth. We also had a reasonably priced wine from Rioja and Jumilla and a cava from Alicanti. The staff was very friendly and the server spoke some English. We all walked away full with big smiles on our faces. We also had the 5 E buffet breakfast the next day. I also think their craft beer is good. It is more full body than typical Spanish beer. The Molino del Rio is a charming place to eat for any meal.

We've recently visited Spain, and Caravaca has been one of our stops. We discovered this restaurant for one lunch ant it was wonderful: homemade food, excellent staff service, chill out terrace, really good prices... They even have the menus in English! If we come back to Caravaca, we'll visit them again, no doubt. Gracias Shaun por elegir nuestro local y por su comentario positivo . Saludos.

This is not a place which is going to knock you over with their range of food, but what they have is well prepared and well worth it. It's attractively served and tasty, available with a decent selection of wines and served by people who know their stuff. Not cheap, but tasty.

One of the best options in Caravaca. It's the typical high level restaurant from Murcia. Well prepared fried entrees, high quality market fish and seafood, good meat. Excellent option in Caravaca to enjoy Murcia food. Best to enjoy with family or friends. Limited healthy options. When you come to these places you know that you are going to eat lots of protein, fried stuff and won't be able to skip desert. Price is good according to quality and service is friendly but not for a rush day.
