Excellent service and very good food in this beautifully located small restaurant. Well worth the detour, the pasta is very good and deserts also.

Piccolo Principe is a beautiful property because 2 caring sisters, Giovanna and Clotilde, restored an old property impeccably. My husband and I arrived for dinner on our first nite in the Piedmont. Only Giovanna was there. Her son does the cooking. And, what a meal they serve!!! No menu. We started with beef carpaccio with a Russian salad on the side (Despite its name, lâinsalata russa (Russian salad) is originally from Piemonte.). Then came a pastry filled with leeks, cream, and egg yolk. Then, I had a risotto with yellow squash. My husband had ravioli with spinach and ricotta. My husband also had rabbit with vegetables. Giovanna recommended a wonderful Barbera D"Asti to go with our dinner. My husband had an amazing chocolate souffle for dessert. I had a delicious hazelnut semifreddo.(Sound like enough food? ) Giovanna sat with us and had coffee. She made us feel like we were friends who came over for dinner. The evening was amazing. Dinners like this are what we look for....they are memorable. Giovanna is a hostess/server who goes above and beyond anything you would expect. The food was delicious. If you are in the Piedmont and in the vicinity of San Damiano d'Asti, be sure to stop here for a meal and an evening you won't soon forget.

La Trattoria degli Amici is located in the heart of the Langhe. Our Restaurant serves fresh seafood and dishes of Piemontese tradition. The philosophy our Chef Patron of Trattoria search all products km "0" with respect to the vegetables and the meat of w
This restaurant is pretty small in size but it is worth visiting. The service was very friendly. We got appetizers on the house. All the dishes were well prepared and very tasty. Wines were very affordable and of decent quality. Good value for the money you spend here!

We had been searching for a restaurant in the area around Asti for a truffle (tartufo) based meal. Garibaldi was mentioned numerous times and the reviews I saw on TripAdvisor and elsewhere were just about all positive with some 30 "Average" out of 288, 8 Poor and Terrible, 145 Very Good and 105 Excellent. With that impressive set of Reviews a visit was something we had to organize.(some reviewers were very caustic about their pricing which is not published and their menus are a bit enigmatic from that standpoint). This is not the first time we have come across a restaurant that does not push their pricing in your face. That said, we had asked for Tartufi (Truffles) and the owner came to our table with a jar of them and an electronic scale. The wonderful odor we smelled when he opened the jar was truly amazing. He claimed that these truffles were locally picked which may well be true. So he placed some truffles on the scale and then said 42 grams which meant about 8 grams per person (there were 8 of us). The additional Cost was Euros 15 per person. In view of the rip offs we have experienced for truffles in some other places that pricing was fine. The owner left those truffles on our table. The owner then told us that we would be served 2 dishes on which the truffles would be grated: warm cheese covered eggs and hand made tagliolini. Both were excellent by Piedmont standards. In other parts of Italy the tagliolini would have been less dry. Before that as appetizers we ate anchovies in tomato sauce and Robiola with ground hazelnuts. Home made grissini and excellent bread. Then came the fritto misto. I have read some horror stories about this specific dish written by other patrons of Garibaldi. Either they annoyed the restaurant owner or they had another restaurant in mind. I won't say that the Fritto Misto was "to die for" because I don't use that kind of hyperbole. The quantity, variety and quality was outstanding.Enough said.Their wine (bottled under the Vaudano brand which is the last name of the hotel/restaurant owners) is called Dragone. It is made using an unusual grape called Croatina. This wine resembles non fizzy Bonarda from Piedmont which is not to be confused with the OltrePo variety.Desert was home made ice cream covered with "mosto" (a creamy syrupy not too sweet by product of wine production). Their desert vine was Berbit (once upon a time called Brachetto) which was very good.A fine lunch with no after effects. We went for a refreshing walk afterwards, bought some bottles of wine in a couple of wine cellars and then drove 240 km back to Milan. No headaches or other unpleasant after effects. A truly pleasant meal that we reckon merits a second visit. We have no affiliation with the owners and are not "friends" as somebody mentioned was a requirement in a scathing review. Our experience was very positive and deserves to be shared with other potential patrons..Including the cost of the truffles we paid Euros 50 per person. We consider this price to be very reasonable and noteworthy.

In the earth of Roero Hills, in a strategic location few kilometers from Alba and Turin, thereâs the Restaurant Marcelin. Located on the main square of Montà , itâs part of accomodation center which hosts also the hotel âCasa Americaniâ and the creamery âA
Exceptional service - extremely efficient, smooth, and quiet. Exceptional food starting with an amuse platter with at least 7 different items. All unique. Great main courses. Dessert was a sugar shell that looked like an egg with panna cotta inside with a passion fruit "yolk". Amazing. This was followed by at least 6 dessert bites. Top class from start to finish.

This is a great Osteria. Casual, but well appointed dining room, service is more casual, but still correct. We were accompanied by a local winery owner who helped translate for us, and we had a bottle of an older Roero from his winery that was just fantastic. So glad we went, I would definitely recommend this Osteria, the food was outstanding.

We are traveling in the region since two weeks, so are able to compare. This place is rather mediocre, and on top seriously overcharges on everything compared to other and much better osteriaâs. Close by in Canale for example you find the Osteria dellâEnoteca, where we ate far better, even very well, for a much better price. Our advice is to go there instead, or to many many other good restaurants in the region that are honest with their price/quality.

Fuori Tempo: we make healthy, tasty and easily digestible pizzas, using only high quality ingredients: stone ground flour (100% Italian wheat, type "1" flour), San Marzano DOP tomatoes, mozzarella "Fiordilatte", extra vergine olive oil, selectioned Italia
With the knowledge of having visited Naples a month ago, we went to this restaurant with a sense to remain relatively "fair" and not to benchmark with the pizza temples in Naples. But what a surprise!!! It was so good and the pizza can easily compete with the best in Italy. The reason is quite simple. There where in Naples everything is controlled and needs to meet "the requirements" this place does it voluntary; dough that seems to have rested also a bit, San Marzano (Vesuvius) tomatoes, DOP mozzarella and other ingredients also from the best. The result is stunning and outside of Naples, this was the best pizza I have eaten.. There is however one big difference vs Naples pizzeria's; here the staff is friendly and seems to enjoy their work! Parfetto! Ps; don't miss the delicious desserts too..

The staff were all, as expected, ultimate professionals and our limited Italian was no issue. We sat outside on a balmy night which was lovely. From the snacks at the start to the post dessert snack trolley every mouthful was amazing. This was our favourite restaurant so far. The serves were generous and you definitely will leave satisfied.
