We were really looking forward to our meal here as we were staying at this unique hotel. We invited 12 new found relatives from Amantea for a special dinner celebration. They had set up a nice table outside with an incredible view but it was too windy, so they pushed together three round tables in a smaller dining room to accommodate our group. We did not order from the menu because the hotel offers a fixed price menu at 45 euros. They cut the price to 35 for this large group. We had three main courses: A fish cake was just OK. The fish course was generous in size, but overdone, so a bit dry. Only one person had seconds on the pasta course...enough said. Dessert was OK as well.Really not a good value. Sorry.

Cooking with local produce such as meat Podolica calabrese (Slow Food), fresh fish in season, cheese cart, wine and Sommelier
We found this restaurant up the street from the hotel we were staying at. It has a garden terrace, which is just lovely! The wait staff was very attentive as we struggled to convey what it was we wanted with our limited Italian and they tried to understand with their limited English. They have a wide variety of seafood and, of course, pasta. Really a wonderful place to experience a small town Italian restaurant.

We aee family of 4, came to Amantea, not knowing either city or Italian. This place looked nice and we went in. And we were coming almost every single day after that. Food is great, place is modern but warm, clean.. Because there are lot of moscitos, in the garden obe can find repellants and lamps for protection. Owners and staff are great, pleasant, polite, helpful, speak English..... I cannot find a single bad thing...

After a long drive and not quite knowing what to expect, we finally arrived at the La Gioiosa Agriturismo hotel which is set in its own magnificent grounds with the most picturesque views of the ancient village of Cleto. We were greeted on arrival byYuri, a most friendly and charming young man who's English was excellent and who immediately made us all feel so very welcome. He insisted that prior to showing us to our rooms that we had a drink along with some light refreshment. Nothing was too much and everything he offered and did for us seemed effortless. After sampling some of the local prize winning wines and delicacies, Yuri then took us to our sleeping accomodation which to our extreme delight was nothing short of sensational. It was a newly decorated 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen and lounge. A large brand new larger tv in the lounge plus a smaller tv in each of the bedrooms along with mini bars and all locally made toiletries etc. A larger fridge freezer, cooker etc were on hand in the kitchen. The views of Cleto and its surrounding landscape from our balcony were incredible. In the evening we went down for dinner not quite knowing what to expect as there was no menu on hand.It was in fact a plentiful choice of all different locally made dishes which were all cooked to perfection and along with their beautiful wines were extremely enjoyable.Yuri, our host was always on hand to en- sure that nothing was ommitted from our stay. Eventually, having over indulged, we retired for a most comfortable nights sleep. In the morning, our freshly prepared breakfast awaited us.Once again, our host Yuri was on hand with more samples of local delicacies which without exception, were all delicious. Following our breakfast which was served to us by his staff in a very courteous way, we checked out and were offered more coffee. Yuri invited us to a personally guided visit to his organic (wholesale) honey factory which was only a short drive from the hotel and which we found was most educational. In short we were treeted and greeted like members of his long lost family.Words fail me to describe the extreme warmth and care of this amazing young man and we are all in agreement that pound for pound...This one merits...The best one yet award. We will return.Thank you so much Yuri xxxx

Fresh fish. Great service. Wonderful place. You're in Calabria and recall the beaches you visited 30 years ago. No skyscrapers, wildly beaches. Simple life, perfect holidays. Il Pergolato reflects this. Simple food but fresh and perfectly cooked. Treat you as you're local. You feel at home. I will miss it.

Radici is a restaurant of traditional food but thought and served according to the new standards of the kitchen. It sinks its roots precisely in the local culture but opens the door to new flavors and new cooking ideas. All this to accompany the customer
Locale moderno e accogliente, ospitalità e cortesia.

After arriving at our nearby hotel we were dropped here to get lunch. It was a nicely appointed place and the food was better than I expected.Tasty bruschetti, excellent seafood salads and rissottos, and lots of fresh, tasty bread to accompany the meal. Why the name I have no idea.
