Not a place with extravagant décor or over fussy food. Let's make that clear. But for well cooked dishes (the proprietor's wife) using fresh produce and interesting combinations, and with no menu but rather a little explanation of what's available delivered by the experienced host, then this is almost unbeatable. We went here on 3 occasions during a short visit to Calci which speaks volumes. Other diners were locals. The place is a gem.

Charming little surprise located near our agritorisimo La Pisana in Pisa. We ordered 2 different pasta plates, one pistachio cream with crunchy bacon. The other plate was sun dried tomatoes with olives and almonds. Both dishes were excellent. We are planning to return here for dinner tonight. Great service too!

Not many customers on that weekday for lunch. Nice welcome and kind and efficient service. The waiter helped to translate the menu. We opted for a seafood platter and pasta with black truffle as starters, followed by pigeon and osso bucco as second dishes. Everything was excellent. Reasonable portions.Excellent deserts. Cost for two with two glasses of wine, coffee: 130EUR.

Authentic Italian dishes in a relaxed atmosphere with good service. Burrata and tagliata of the best ever eaten. A place for locals. Italy at its best.

We had a great meal at this pearl of a restaurant. We were staying just outside Calci and decided to drive up into the mountains to visit this place, and we were not disappointed. This place is beautifully situated and feels very authentic and true to its Tuscan roots. For antipasti we chose the selection of cold hams and the prosciutto with mozzarella. We then went for a primi with pasta, fresh cherry tomatoes and cheese. And a secundi of the wild boar. The boar was really good, and the pasta was the best we tasted through our 10 days stay in Tuscany. The house wine also tasted great with the chosen food. The dishes were big, and the service was super friendly. They only speak Italian, but we managed by hand signs and smiles. In total for 2 persons we only paid 37,50⬠including food, water and wine. A fantastic price for such a meal.Tip: Remember to book a table. It was our impression that this place is very popular among the locals. We called in the morning, and reserved a table, using the few Italian words we knew, and it was worth it.

Monte Carlo is a beautiful tuscan village with a number of lovely places to eat. This place is particularly lovely as offers gluten free options and caters for vegetarians. Really peaceful lunch time location with amazing views. Food was served promptly but once again kept waiting for one family member to be served their food sometime after everyone else which is why we give it four stars. Definitely worth a visit and great to get off the tourist trail.

Really good place, very nice furniture based on Alice in wonderland. If you want to try really good wine from Tuscany thatâs the best place around. The place serves a really good variety of products and different types of pastas all made on local products, and everything is of course handmadeReally big thumbs up!!Thank you!It is great when our guests feel the meaning and tastes of our cooking!Hoping to see you again!

Casale La Piaggia is a small agriturismo established in 2012 thanks to a real passion of the patrons for the true Tuscan cuisine and its forgotten traditional recipes. Most of the ingredients used are organic and produced by our farm Casale La Piaggia. Ou
What an amazing place! Thanks to great reviews on TripAdvisor we decided to visit this rural gem.The food was good, plentiful and truly Tuscan. Antipasti, pasta, meat and fresh vegetables, followed by a lovely dessert made us more than content. The house wine is special treat - something special , but not so out of the ordinary that it becomes odd. Spicy olives, fresh cherry tomatoes, lovely basil and home made olive oil were all lovely culinary surprises. The place is small, and the people are friendly. The proprietors take great pleasure in demonstrating their produce, their food and chatting with the customers. We felt welcome into an Italian family dining experience. The restaurant is outside, so bring a shawl or some bug spray if you are sensitive. The wine (both white and red) are for sale, together with the olive oil. There is no credit card machine, so bring cash :) Absolutely worth the drive Please visit - because this is amazing.

Visited while staying locally in November. This restaurant is located at the edge of the village and is fairly easy to get to on foot if staying locally. The restaurant is welcoming and well laid out, the staff where very helpful when explaining the menu which is in italian.Enjoyed a pleasant small soup before the starter we both had the pate which was excellent. For mains we had the barbecued chicken which was lovely and moist however the skin although very crispy was very heavily laden with salt. Dessert was really nice would recommend the cheesecake Very reasonably priced and would definately visit again.
