My ratings are based on whether the restaurant met its objectives. So a simple restaurant, like this taperia, can earn 5 stars in the same way a much pricier and elegant restaurant can. My wife and I enjoyed 2 outstanding dishes - turnip and spinach croquettas (delicious crunchy tasteful crust without any "oiliness" and soft flavorful filling) and a tasty combination of cheese and anchovies. Simple and wonderful. Friendly and efficient service. Nice wines. All at a reasonable price.

Best Galician modern cuisine next to Abastos'local market.
Great menu and impeccably cooked and presented. Beautiful courtyard setting in quiet area. Attentive service and good that the chef himself brought out our mains. The seafood and meat dishes were all first class. Highly recommended and good value for food of this level.

We went there with no reservation. Two adults and two children. They went above an beyond to find a table and everything was done nicely. The service was excellent especially trying to cater the needs of the kids. All the staff was smiling and did all that was requested with good attitude. The food is amazing the flavors were just perfect. Best meal in Santiago de Compostela.

We were just lucky that this wonderful restaurant was located in our hotel, which itself was a jewel. My wife had the tuna and avocado salad. Fresh and delicious. I ordered the pork ribs, which was tender, flavorful and served with a delicious red wine reduction and apple puree. Scrumptious! White tablecloth service which was impeccable and the atmosphere in this 18th century building was a throwback (musically and atmospherically) to a classier, cooler, America in the 40's and 50's. Dean Martin era background music? Didn't see that coming. A great experience. Top recommendation

Cocina de aldea e mercado
The restaurant is in an unassuming spot a mile or so outside Noia - easy to miss (look out for the café/tabaco next door). We visited for lunch twice, and both times were the first to eat, despite it being nearly 2pm! We are out at the back, under cover but in the very pretty garden. The menu is small, and you might need to spend a bit of time translating it! Highlights for us were the sardines (served simply, dressed with oil and balsamic, and a few tomatoes), and the octopus (served on a purée of vegetables). All dishes came with very good warm bread rolls. The house Albariño is excellent, and less than â¬2 a glass. A few small dishes shared between the 4 of us were plenty. The kids enjoyed the three chocolate mousse dessert. Service very good - friendly and helpful, from both the waiter and the lady chef who came out to check things were going well. â¬63 for 4 of us, including drinks. We returned two days later, with grandparents this time, and added two bottles of wine and slightly more expensive main dishes (also to share), and the total was a very reasonable â¬150.

Casa de comidas abierta en Julio de 2019 de enfoque tradicional y cariño al producto. Decoración y platos que te trasladan a una taberna gallega clásica.
We arrived early and thought our reservation might have been unnecessary. By 2100, however, it was humming. Our waiter spoke enough English - and we were provided with an English menu, to make an informed selection. Wine, pimientos padron and an egg, vegetable & shrimp salad started the meal â all fresh and nicely presented. They also brought an unordered plate of cheese, bread and sausage which appeared, as usual, on the final bill. The star was a huge dish for two âArroz del Senioritaâ of seafood and rice in a thick broth. Seafood included lots of squid, mussels, scallops and shrimp. Weâd no room left for the desserts that looked so tempting at the beginning. The only down side was a long wait for the rice to finish cooking for the main dish â albeit well worth it in the end.

We had such a lovely time with Maritina ans Antonio! They were the best and kindest hosts we have ever experienced! The food is absolutely delicious. Honest Galicien Cuisine and you can taste the quality of the products they use. The seafood is especially tasty! Thank you for making our stay in the region that much better !

Cerramos por vacaciones del 1 al 15 de noviembre. Disculpen las molestias. We close for holidays since 1/11/17 to 15/11/17. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Had a wonderful and tasty meal of croquettes, haka fish, and one of the most delicious cheesecake I've ever had, paired with a good white wine (which was unusual for me since i usually drink red)... A definite treat after the CaminoThe service was attentive and the server spoke very good English.

We had a lovely lunch here, outside under umbrellas looking out at the harbor. My wife had a delicious green salad and I had an exquisite scallop dish...7 scallops, beautifully presented and excellently prepared. Quite a wonderful experience and a great surprise, since we just got here after about 18 hours of traveling. This plus a beer, a glass of wine and four coffees (friends joined us for coffee) cost only â¬30. A real bargain for a wonderful lunch on the first day of vacation!

Organic food, home-grown, farm eels and farm
Pleasantly surprised by this new restaurant (or, as better described âexperienceâ)⦠O Balado is certainly secluded but it brings back to the table what is really important: good produce, carefully treated ingredients, passion, serenity, calmness ⦠It can properly be defined as a restaurant serving âslow foodâ, sharing âslow timesâ⦠Relaxing atmosphere, wonderful food, simple and unpretentious. Our lunch âUnha Viaxe polo Baladoâ started with smoked cured salmon at the lareira⦠It was certainly sublime. The cheese, homemade, had the right smoky flavor (the 80/20 combination made it strong but subtle). Divine. The calamari croquettes were amazing, soft, velvety. So was the homegrown tomato with cheese⦠The anguia was nice and strong, a peculiar flavor that some will favor. The meat perfectly presented. The desserts were amazing, introducing the right degree of freshness after a strong meal. All in all I would strongly recommend this place, for the whole experience. Cannot wait to return during the winter and enjoy the coziness of that lareira⦠Certainly beautiful place with marvelous food. Thank you Marta e Roberto, we will be back!
