Good new summer spot in the 'groene hart', a beachbar/ restaurant feel, right in front is a small sandy beach with acces to a swimming enclosure in the Nieuwkoopse plassen. Can be reached by car (short stroll) or a 500 meter walk over 'het meijepad'. Good wine, quite a basic menu, with medium sized portions that are ok, but miss a little extra.

The restaurant is situated along one of the canals in Gouda and has a traditional interior with a wooden floor and a fireplace. The food is of a good quality and according to some of our group the vegetarian main dishes are very good. The difference for me between very good and excellent is the lack of the wow factor, of the surprise in taste and presentation. The service is friendly and professional. It was for instance possible for them that we could order a dessert that's not at the menu: a little of this (sweet desserts) and a little cheese. Top! With regard to the wine I would suggest the antinori.

. There was one big table with about 20 people who all like nice food, good wines and AGA Cookers. Arthur is a wonderful cook and Marjan his wife is the perfect host. The place is authentic and cosy. Private dining or participating in this Table d'hÃ´te are the only ways to eat at this place. Personally we would have appreciated a bigger portion of vegetables and sharing cheese plate per 4 instead of per 6 persons would have been more convenient. A lovely place in a nice town. We hebben gisteravond weer een table dhote avond gehad en dachten daarbij ook aan jullie. Hoe gaat het met jullie. Als jullie prachtige wijngaard zover is dat jullie trotse eigenaren zijn van mooie flessen wijn dan zullen wij deze met volle trots gaan schenken en hopen dat jullie er dan een keer bij zijn om de juiste uitleg en het verhaal erbij te kunnen vertellen. In this restaurant, you could say a former pizzeria, I had a very good experience with my non Pizza dish. The way my Filet Toscane was prepared was excellent also the starter was very nice.

We've been regulars for over 10 years and this restaurant provides the best value for money in Alphen, easily. A three course meal will cost you â¬28 with good food and generous portion sizes. You do need to make reservations in advance as even on Monday evening this restaurant will be full.

The restaurant is in a convenient location near the square. Food is of high Italian standard, including pasta, entree. Recommend to try the salted fish, which is of high quality. French Frites are superb. Even the dessert will keep surprising you, making you mistaking that you are in Italy. Try Penna cotta and tiramisu, which are superb.
