Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Biloxi. Sitting along the shores of Mississippi's Gulf Coast, the city of Biloxi has been a favorite vacation destination for decades, with sandy beaches and calm waters perfect for jet skiing or deep-sea fishing. Having suffered heavy damage during Hurricane Katrina, Biloxi is bouncing back. The casinos and resorts are back in action, offering championship golf and live entertainment. The city has restored many historic sites, including Beauvoir, the home of Confederate president, Jefferson Davis.

After enduring one evening dining at the casino/hotel at which we were staying, we decided 'enough torture'. We wanted something nearby, something ethnic, and something that was likely to attract locals. We settled on Mr. Greek, which is in a strip mall a few blocks from the entrance of the Keesler AFB just west of I-110. It turned out to be an excellent choice. It's a venerable restaurant: nothing fancy, but the food was excellent. We had a gyro plate and a moussaka plate. They came with a basket of warm flat bread and a Greek salad. We asked where they got such good feta cheese in Mississippi. "We ship it in from Chicago" was the answer. Service was prompt and friendly. Our meals, with iced tea, came to a total of $37; less that the price of some of the appetizers at our hotel, and much tastier.

Unpretentious dining at a great value and the food is a tad better than decent. Started with feta and olives with peta - a meal in itself. I had the eggplant fried with tomato sauce and parmigiana. Not the best I’ve ever had. Mother and wife ordered the grilled shrimp that were out of the park. All were accompanied by a flavorful sesame rice and fresh dinner salad. Based upon server’s advice - saved room for a slice of carrot cake that was scrumptious. You bet that we’ll return.Glad you enjoyed your meal, FYI, we will have a lamb steak special for mother's day. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

We were there during Crusin the Coast this October. A friend had eaten there almost every year for over 10 years during this event. I ordered the baked Ziti with a meat sauce. It came out bubbling. I split it with my hubby and they helped us get this HOT pasta onto a second plate. I found it to be pretty darn good. The people we went with also got the ziti with meat sauce but said his sauce was a bit runny. The other person got chicken parm, SHe said the chicken patty was a bit thicker then she liked and was not breaded as she prefers. They brought in their own wine, which is encouraged. There is a +$10 bottle fee which I did not see listed on the menu. I guess they thought if you knew to bring your wine you knew how much the upcharge is. Waitress was nice and friendly. The bread sticks were marvelous. A man near us got a pizza which looked great. I would try it again. Thank you for your review! We’re glad you enjoyed most everything. Sicilian sauces are slightly thinner than Italian sauces and sometimes patrons might not realize the difference. We do use a corn meal breading for our chicken Parmesan which is also a little different but it allows the meal to be gluten free but still tasty! We pride ourselves on thick cuts and big portions so we’re sorry it was thicker than you like but we hope it filled you up! We do charge a $5 bottle fee for your own wine and it is listed clearly on the beverage page of the menu. All in all we’re glad you stopped by and enjoyed it and we look forward to seeing you next year!
