Reviews on Mediterranean food in Benalmadena, Province of Malaga, Spain. While most visitors choose Benalmadena for its glorious beaches, there are plenty of other attractions to keep your family amused. Take a trip out to sea on a boat or a ferry; you can even go whale and dolphin watching. A cable car ride would make a welcome change, or perhaps a visit to Bil Bil Castle. The castle is distinctive with its Arabian architecture, and it hosts concerts as well as art exhibitions. Visit the Sea Life Centre, where you can walk through the transparent tunnels in the underwater park or watch feeding demonstrations; the centre even has a mini golf course. At the end of a relaxing day, Benalmadena becomes a great place for nightlife. Whatever kind of cuisine you are looking for, you are sure to find a restaurant that will suit your family's tastes.

Serving up delicious, home cooked food with a selection of drinks and fine wines, within stylish surroundings, The Lilac Tree is a friendly, contemporary restaurant and bar. Located in the beautiful, white-washed, traditional village of Benalmadena Pueblo
We very rarely go to somewhere more than once, but the team running the Lilac Tree and the food impressed us so much, we went back the following evening. On our first encounter, we tried the mackerel pate and the fried goats cheese for starters, followed by the pork belly and the thai green curry - delicious! We asked for wine to go with our meals and they were excellent! Happy and helpful attitude from everyone, including the Chef who brought out our mains - it's nice to thank someone who has passion for their skill and ability to create beautifully presented and tasty food! I can recommend the fudge brownie dessert! Walking away from the Lilac Tree just after midnight, we decided to come back again the next evening. We were not disappointed and the food was fantastic again! Really enjoyed the sweet chilli prawn linguine and the fried halloumi. Ideal street location for a summer evening, with a view of pretty spanish townhouses while nursing an amaretto! Thank you all at The Lilac Tree and every success for your business!

We are a small and cosy restaurant with a international kitchen with food for every kind of taste. Also gluten free and vegetarian dishes. With nice background music you will have a unforgettable dinner. Hope to see you soon. Team bistro michel
We visited this restaurant due to the good reviews. It is very compact and you need to book well in advance. The staff were pleasant but the food moderate. It was food from the 1970s with the usual soup,pâté etc followed by the chicken, pork dishes with glutinous sauces. It was not unpleasant but I would have expected something better for the rave reviews this gets it is no better than other local restaurants like Santorini or Sandpiper. It is not a must to visit.Good afternoon, first of all thank you for your review. Second, the 3 course set menu for 14.50 euro what you are talking about is a normal menu for everyone. We need to have a menu like that, because that's what the people ask for. If you didn't like the set menu you Also could have tried our normal menu or specials. ( which for sure is not from the 70s ) You could have tried the surf and turf, the oriental crispy shrimps, the oxtail in red wine sauce, the carrillade ( pork cheeks) in malaga wine.,the lamb shank, the red tuna steak with teriyaki sauce etc.. Maybe next time Kind regards team bistro michel

If you're looking for authentic Spanish tapas, rather than tourist fare, then this is the place. After reading good reviews on TripAdvisor, found this understated little restaurant tucked away up a quiet walkthrough. Friendly English speaking staff, warm welcome. Interesting menu, fresh, home cooked food, reasonably priced. Busy & popular so booking recommended to avoid disappointment. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommended.

We had tried to get into this restaurant last year when we visited Benalmadena but were unable to so this year we went in and booked a table! The meal, service and staff were wonderful. We could not fault a thing so we booked again to return on another evening and once again received the same fantastic experience. If you are in the area you have to go - you won't be disappointed.

This is a great Italian restuarant with excellent service and delicious food. We came for my best friend's 70th birthday and the staff responded so well with a desert, candle on top and singing 'Happy Bithday' (other diners joined in) and followed by one of the waiters getting a pal to bring a Ferrari around for us to pose for photos (not drive away!) Thank you for a very special evening Hi Makingthemostofit66,Thank you very much for your lovely words. We are glad to read that you enjoyed the special occasion. Best regards, RESTAURANTE ITALIANO PINOCHO
