We had a late and pleasant lunch. Nothing too fancy but the waiter was nice and helpful. A nice enough place for a day-to-day meal or a coffee break.

Already a customer in the previous restaurant/place, nothing important was lost in the change. The food is as good as it ever was...Perhaps the name is a misnomer...Let's say I go more often to this restaurant then all the others combined together... Is this a strong enough statement?

Visited after reading reviews on tripadvisor and were not disappointed. The menu is written solely in Portuguese but I'm sure someone would be able to help translate. It isn't a large menu but with the daily specials there is plenty to chose fromFood was plentiful, of good quality and extremely well priced, staff were friendly and there was a mix of both locals and tourists dining which made for a relaxed atmosphereThoroughly recommended

First night in Beja staying across the square in Convento Sao Franscisco. Lucky to get a seat at 19.50, after which the hoards descended. We had prawns to start and I had the best seafood pasta ever for â¬7. Better half had excellent Lasagne and inexpensive house wine. Bill came ot â¬30, cheapest meal in Portugal this year. Pizzas looked scrumptious and great friendly staff. Portions are large and one could do 2 if you have a starter also.Dear PeterADHO Ristorante Dona Maria agradece a sua visita.Ficamos contentes por termos correspondido à expectativas.Volte sempre!Os melhores cumprimentos

Perfect place to have some of the region's best dishes (and desserts), the place it's relatively small, but cosy and as that feel at home feeling. This is my hometown so I go there sometimes, and this is now definitely a go to place.

5 min walk from Pousada de São Francisco Beja
Local Portuguese food with friendly service. We choose 3 dishes from the house specialty menu including a soup, pork, and bacalhau. All dishes were under 10 euros each. The place was packed with locals on a Sunday afternoon. Always a good sign.

The restaurant Dom Dinis is located along one of the most iconic national monuments : the castle keep of Beja Castle. The geographical location gives you a series of parking solutions in various streets surrounding this area of great historical interest ,
Located across from the Beja Castle this is a true Portugese experience. The restaurant specializes in the meats and tradional Portugese cuisine of the Alentjo region. They specialize in the black pork for which the region is famouse and we had it two ways. It was served with a traditional Portugese bread style accompaniement made in a cast iron pan which was excellent, one had asparagus within it. The server was great and while very little English is spoken everyone was very friendly and accomodating and we were well understood.Boa noite caro Tigandgrace,Muito obrigado pela sua visita e pela descrição do seu comentário. Gratos pelas suas referências.Cumprimentos

Well worth the trouble you may have in finding this - it has an almost invisible entry without any obvious sign in a narrow and run-down side street - but offering a really ambitious range of dishes that strongly reflect both regional and national Portuguese culinary resources. Take the time to download and investigate the menu in advance - in both Portuguese and English - from the restaurant's website. Our choices of starters of mushroom with avocado puree and shrimp and Serpa cheese with caramalized walnuts was enjoyable, with a helpful explanation of the origin of Serpa cheese from the waiter. Main dishes of guineafowl and veal in port wine proved to be more than substantial and very good value for money. A total bill for all this plus a shared dessert and a bottle of excellent Vidiguera wine for just over 50 Euros for two would certainly have merited a second visit had we not already exhausted the time of our stay in Beja!
