Discover Restaurants offering the best Mediterranean food in Banos, Tungurahua Province, Ecuador. Normally, one wouldn’t equate "relaxing spa vacation" with "hanging out near an active volcano," but if you’re up for something more exotic than facials and massages, Banos might be the perfect place for you. The thermal mineral pools here are heated by the volcano, and while there are several, offering different amenities, the easiest one to visit is Las Piscinas de la Virgen. Banos also has plenty of outdoor activities, like rafting and biking on scenic paths.

We stopped in because of the many positive reviews by other travelers. We really enjoyed our meal, the good beer/wine, and the desserts while we waited for the rain to stop. The service was good, the location easy to find, and the food was outstanding.Great place to pop in for an enjoyable dining experience.

La Tasca is the first Spanish restaurant in Baños, where you can enjoy delicious paella or an excellent choice of tapas, all with an authentic Spanish flavor. You will be served by the owners in a good atmosphere.
La Tasca is a quaint restaurant offering great authentic Spanish cuisine and delightful wine. The owner is polyglot with a great personality making the ambiance a very interesting and enjoyable one. We ordered several tapas dishes, all of them were very good, some tastier than others. Anyone seeking authentic Spanish cuisine, La Tasca is a great choice.Thank you for very much for your visit. We are especially happy that you liked our food and our service. Thak you for recommending La Tasca. Hope to see you again. Regards fron Baños. P.S. Sorry for the late response, but I lost my Tripadvisorâs pass.

Mediterranean food with a local touch, draught microbrews, gourmet coffee and desserts
This review from a (TOP TA CONTRIBUTOR) is an honest representation of the OVERALL experience. Many of the places I've visited over the last few years in south america have family members involved AND present in their operation. There is NO management or ownership on site here. Therefore no co-ordination of waitstaff and kitchen. Many places will blame a "Gringo language barrier" which would be understandable if my Ecuadorian GF wasn't with me. The food was creative, fresh, and well prepared! Everthing else, especially the ENTIRE waitstaff was below average stands. As noted in other reviews, an unacceptable 2hours late afternoon (half full restaurant)Experience. TRY ANOTHER PLACE !

Ofrecemos parrilladas estilo ecuatoriano, cocina mediterránea, pastas caseras, postres, cafeterÃa y más!
For 5 weeks, I would pass by Dulce Carbon at least 2-4 times. During the evenings, I noticed the restaurant (especially during the weekends) was full of locals.I ordered the chicken with bbq sauce and was not disappointed. Very very reasonable. If you want to eat like a local, you have to come here.

What a place to chill out after a hard days night :-) in the same bar! Owner's a real champ, offered us complementary drinks and respond to all our wishes. Its almost we've spent a night in our own restaurant and bar. As far as drink list goes no need to mention it...it goes for ever you can think of. Food was really good and suited the venue! We were treated like a family, and that only counts!
