Reviews on Mediterranean food in Baeza, Province of Jaen, Spain. Baeza (Spanish pronunciation: [baˈeθa]), formerly also written as Baéza, is an Andalusian town in the province of Jaén in southern Spain. It lies perched on a cliff in the Loma de Úbeda, the range separating the Guadalquivir River to its south from the Guadalimar to its north. It is now principally famed for having some of the best-preserved examples of Italian Renaissance architecture in Spain. Along with Úbeda, it was added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 2003. The former Visigothic bishopric of Baeza remains a Latin Catholic titular see.

Recommended to come here by the receptionist at our hotel. (We must remember to thank her!) Would have rated it excellent had the service been more prompt, but the friendly and helpful staff were also especially keen on chatting to other colleagues and guests! Superb local wine from Alcala la Real. The free tapas were good, though not that warm, however the two we sampled from the menu were glorious... the spinach with eggs and prawns, as was the (even better) risotto with setas and foie.

Local interior with tables and bar, decorated modern style with several slates Taberna reporting the daily specials, outdoor terrace with tables and comfortable chairs, the nerve center of the city, open from March 15 to November 1. Large selection of Spa
We visited the tavern on our trip to Baeza and had a lovely lunch there. Their menu consists of a nice variety of dishes, and they have also several daily specials written on the wall.We had few apetizers, four dishes (raciones) to share, and a yummy chocolate dessert (2 pax). Really nice wine list (per glass also) of Spanish wines. The food was absolutely delicious. We had salad with duck breast & roquefort cheese, clams with spicy pepper sauce, amazing octopus and some grilled Iberian pork. We had coffee on the sunny terrace. Staff is very professional and friendly, stop for lunch or dinner you won't regret it.

This was the busiest restaurant on the day we visited in mid October, so we elected to have light lunch here. A great tomato salad, excellent grilled asparagus and okay blood sausages. A nice place to enjoy a rest and some good food. Recommend.

The key is you.

This restaurant had been recommended to us by our hotel concierge and despite us arriving late for lunch even for spanish custom - 20 minutes past 3pm - being the now only guests - we received silver service! And full attention from the kitchen! We enjoyed an excellent Ribera de Duero, specially bottled for the restaurant of 100% cabernet franc! Outstanding value for money and an excellent wine to go with our filet steak and the starters, too!Fine mussels al la plancha, beautifully presented tomatoe salad of coeur du beouf tomatoe with this seasons unfiltered frantoia olive oil! What a treat!Perfectly cooked steaks of wonderful meat!To finish the meal we were offered a millefeuille of roquefort and a homemade special desert called something like gatcho!Delicious and memorable meal!

A newly created establishment located in the historical center of Baeza (Jaén), where you can enjoy local dishes updated, extensive wine list and the best premium drinks. An idylic and picturesque venue to suit all tastes.
We had a fantastic lunch here with our teenage Spanish speaking teenagers. The staff were patient whilst we chose several dishes; tomato salad, stewed beef, teriyaki chicken, croquettes with blue cheese, pasta with courgette. All dishes were served one after another, which meant we took our time to enjoy each dish individually. Wine was 2.50⬠a glass, beer and water inexpensive too. No English menu, no English speaking staff - we loved it. Generous portions, so we asked to box our leftovers, which they kindly did for us. They even complemented our daughter on her Spanish - it made her day.

Quality price and service Innovative Mediterranean traditional cuisine Meal for vegetarian celiacs or any allergen
Although we were staying at about 20 minutes walk from this place, we decided to visit it because comments made on tripadvisor were excellent. Luckily for us they are open on Mondays! With our basic Spanish and few words of English we ordered nice wine and went with the by our waiters recommended Tuna. As in this area, every drink comes with tapas, very delightful. The meal was well prepared, very tasteful, well spiced and they also have a lot of attention for the presentation of the food. (Which in my experience is more an exception than rule around here).Prices are very acceptable and for this level of dining could even be called low. It is not the most charming place or within the centre of the town but if you fancy no nonsense good food and a small walk or short drive, this is the place to go.Hola estimado clientes.

Bar opposite the viewpoint of the Cruz Baqueta in Baeza. We have a very select bar snack and a great wine list.
This is a very good tapas restaurant with generous and well prepared dishes. The meat is particularly good (excellent pork and lamb). Very sympathetic service. What make the experience something really special is the terrace with views to the snowy mountains and the valleys of olive trees. Pure AndalucÃa!
