In the heart of Sala Consilina (SA), in the Diano Valley, LiLo is the meeting place for local traditions, food and beer in an environment where every item tells a story. Large outdoor area, live music, art and crafts.
This place is unique in the region, in fact I have found few places in New York City that provide the such a balance of art, food, beer and even a glass of wine should you choose. You can just choose from a large assortment of craft beers and enjoy the spacious artistic and unique décor, but then you would be missing out on some great food that is designed and prepared with great care and quality. The people serving in the restaurant, like almost all of the people in Sala Consilina, are warm and welcoming. They also speak perfect English and will make you feel at home wherever you are from. Finally, free wifi is available and I was comfortable just plugging in and surfing the net while enjoying a drink, some snacks and some good conversation.

L'Agrit
One of the best meals during my recent visit to the region. Friendly and attentive service and genuine cooking. Delicious antipasto of fried eggplant "meatballs". Excellent homemade pappardelle pasta with basil, pine nuts and herbs. Fantastic homemade pasta with sausage ragu'. Homemade liquors rounded out a highly recommended meal. Located off of a main road, don't be put off by the location. The food is fantastic and very reasonably priced.
My family and I found this restaurant almost as a chance, while traveling in Southern Italy. It definitely looks more like a cafe, but we were able to eat in a VERY nice environment, very comfortable and peaceful.Mary, the waitress, was very kind and nice, both with us and with our kids.We went there twice, both time we had fish and it was one of the best we have ever had.The price is definitely affordable (less than 100 euro for 5 persons, wine and dessert included) with a wide choice of fish and a wonderfully made swordfish.

This Restaraunt has everything, great wines, unique beers, Italian style food, or savory, perfectly prepared, American food like burgers, steaks and fajitas. All wrapped in a casual yet exquisite décor reminiscent of a Hard Rock.I cannot imagine how much work went into setting up this restaurant, from the Harley parked in the middle of the restaurants, to the authentic 1950's American style seating everything is in its place to produce a cool, edgy feel. You might forget that you are in southern Italy until they bring out the outstanding food. Not your usual pasta and pesce, here you can get meats prepared in a special way that you will not easily find in America. I ordered this fantastic steak dish, with some unique preparation and flavor. Now if you are just in the mood for a beer and a burger, or a shot of JD, rest assured you can get a burger and fries that is better than most of what I generally can find in the NY area burger places. Finally they were also able to serve up a great plate of broccoli.Do not expect to speak too much english in this restaurant, this is a true local place, and while you may feel a bit out of place if you don't speak Italian (my italian is rudimentary at best) , this is normal for the area, and as always in Sala Consilina, everyone is inviting, kind and helpful. Just a 10 minute walk from Piazza Umberto and the center of town. The walk is well worth the experience and you will need to walk off all the great food and drink! Thank you Marco for some great food and experience!

Drunk in the heart of the old town, respecting the traditions, searching and exalting the flavors of a time
During our three-night stay in Sanza, we had two meals at this wonderful restaurant, run by the Zambrotta family. We never saw a menu; we were guided by Sabino, our host, who brought out dish after dish of superb authentic regional cuisine. After a huge antipasto, consisting of various meats and cheeses, escarole and beans that tasted just like my motherâs, eggplant rolled around anchovies, and baked eggs, we had delicious pasta in a red meat sauce. On the second evening, Sabino served a beautiful insalata mista, veal sautéed with arugula and tomatoes, and a beautiful platter of fresh fruit, including extraordinary watermelon. Sabino only serves food that is fresh and local, and you can taste it! I look forward to returning to this Sanzese treasure!

This place is off the beaten path, and well worth the trip. We were worried about how packed the place was on Ferragosto, but the staff did an excellent job. The menu was prefixed for the holiday but the ancient grains the place is known for was well showcased. Delicious bread, amazing pasta and a hearty but not heavy parmigiana! Donât skip the primi piatti or the mousse dessert!!

This is, without doubt, the best meal we have eaten in Italy and I am only sorry it has taken me so long to write this review. We stopped off here on our return journey from Calabria to Rome last summer and were so pleased we found this place. The owners, Antoni and his wife, were so welcoming. He spoke to us at length about the menu and the influences on his food, having lived in the UK he could also speak English which meant we got to know so much more about the way they source and create their food. They made amazing looking pizza and many of the locals were choosing these but my husband chose the T-bone steak and I had a vegetarian pasta dish which was amazing. The steak too was delicious and there were touches of their time in the UK on the menu which enhanced the experience. It's a rustic kind of place but with high quality ingredients and a real focus on local produce, Antoni told us all about the food they grow themselves as well as where he sources other ingredients. To add to the experience he also took us on a tour of the property and to see the balsamic vinegar being aged in oak barrels; we had this on a salad and it was sensational. We are clinging on to the last drips that we bought from him. The wine was home made and delicious. It was a fantastic way to end our holiday and we were only sorry not to be spending more time in the area so that we could have eaten there again. I really hope their family have continued success at this place, they definitely deserve it. We're contemplating a return journey just to eat there! We even got tips on local tourist attractions which we would never have known about and an invite to come back the next day to watch the bread making process! Finally, we followed this place on Sat nav which wasn't great, it's easily accessible on the road which leads up from the motorway to the old town but far better to ask a local even with our very limited Italian.
