Saved us detour to Temerloh since hubby longed for Pahangâs famous Patin tempoyak. All the while hubby had this Patin Tempoyak at JBâs Anjung Selatan.Well I can say that overall the food here is good and cheap. 1st Day had patin tempoyak, kerai goreng, daging salai masak lemak, kerisi goreng sambal, keladi senduk (keladi merawan) tumis sambal and labu masak lemak.2nd day we had sambal sotong (superb), udang galah masak lemak and sambal petai tempoyak.Food heaven & the price is cheap. A place for those who loves local food.
Here in Micasa Cafe, we brew with pasion, and cook with love, just hoping you find yourself comfort and peace, in this city of Kuantan. Kuantan, a lovely town that stays in a moderate scale: not over urbanised to be too hectic, but not too under develop t

Very unique place with many curiosities on display from numerous CocaCola bottles to Art books. Very nice and welcoming staff. Noteworthy was the mood lighting, some of which were morphing colours, and the comfortable tablesâ and chairs. The menu has a few nice mains, but no deserts, except for a jelly dish. I choose the steak and was not disappointed. It was rather thin, but nicely cooked to medium rare as i like it. It came with a bowl of delicious Asian inspired pepper sauce, a green salad and a side of potatoes. Not a huge meal, but healthy (IMHO) and tasty.Must report the cafe is very noisy, located on the main street with french doors wide open, so avoid peak jam times or you won't be able to have a conversation. The miner birds in the tree are a good competition to the traffic noise at dusk :)Best is the opportunity for a nice after dinner walk along the lit up river promenade that is just about across the road.

The food here is excellent and a must try for everyone who visit kuantan. Its about 5 km away from downtown area and serves traditional malay Terengganu ethnic dishes. Very authentic and have many choices of fried seafoods, Terengganu kuih, satar (the best), nasi campur, keropok lekor and others such as a la carte menu (nasi goreng, mee goreng etc). Beverages includes young coconut, sirap, tea, coffee etc. It is situated right after/next to Pondok Polis Peramu, Kuantan.

Just opposite our hotel and saw many good reviews! Went there for brekkie since we missed the hotel breakfast and we really enjoyed it! Nice serving of curry beehoon, chicken, taupok, fishballs, daogei and delicious curry gravy!Perfect breakfast stuff! The place can get quite busy and since they make each dish individually, may take awhile to be served. Do not go there too hungry! Can be quite a wait but worth it!Highly recommended :)

If you are into Thai cuisine than this is the number one place to be in Balok. Lots of families dining in when we arrived, but still managed to get our food within 10 minutes of ordering which was pretty much commendable-lah! Their Siakap 3 Rasa is to die for.

Had 10 sticks of chicken, 8 sticks of lamb and 4 sticks of beef satay. First few sticks of chicken were good. Juicy, fragrant and delicious with the peanut sauce. Rice with sauce was great too. Then it went downhill with the lamb and beef. Both meat were unchewable. Not sure if itâs the tendons in the choice of meat or the way itâs grilled. I had to chew and spit out a lot. Upon checking, some parts of meat, including the chicken looks rather red. Overall, might had been a happy takeaway if I had just ordered the chicken satay and rice.

We went to Alor Akar Restaurant for dinner twice during our brief vacation in Kuantan. On both occasions, it was crowded, but the food quality remained very good. Dinner # 1 : Steamed Patin fish in soya sauce, pork ribs in fruit sauce, stir fried water spinach (kangkung) in belacan paste. Dinner # 2 : Steamed patin fish in soya sauce, salted egg squid, and kungpao mantis prawns. Yes, we loved the steamed Patin fish so much, we ordered it twice. Both dinners cost about RM60+, which was very reasonable considering the large portions despite us ordering the small size for all dishes. We would definitely revisit the next time we're in Kuantan....so many more menu items to savour.
