We had a pleasant night, food was great and the restaurant was pretty much packed. An old Damas style Arabic House converted into a restaurant in the middle of Bab Touma neighborhood. Recommended when in Damascus, and don't forget to as for their traditional dessert

This little taste of bohemia in the middle of the desert is also a great hub for meeting other backpackers and firing off e-mails home. The crepes are wonderful; the name doesn't do justice to the fare. The owner can be a bit much, and he knows how to charge, but if you can overlook that, the place is a must: really the nerve centre for an otherwise quite boring little town (once you've seen the site that is).

What a beautiful place, decorative atrium with a romantic chimney in the middle, surrounded by lush gardens of the patio! Delicious salads and good choice of main dishes. Very good service and management. Definitely one of the best spots.
