Just across the Ferney border from Geneva is a decrepit building housing Goodtaste. Don't be fooled. They stock a range of locally made and imported goodies. Have a meal or takeaway or even frozen foods. Amazing

Great chicken or lamb chawarma as well as a large variety of Lebanese mezzzes plus a wide selection of sweets. Take away or eat in. This is a small family owned cafes, deli store full of Lebanese and middle eastern products as well as a butcher. I certainly recommend this place to eat or to shop.

Tremendously high temperatures make it desirable, whenever a railway stopover keeps you close to the station, to find some shady oasis, some welcoming, comforting place : not so unlikely to reach, should you know exactly where to go - or follow your instinct. In Lausanne, try the Café du Simplon, just down the North escalator. In Geneva, "Nomades" in the Grottes area (restored, friendly, surprising) will bless you with mezzés, Mediterranean (and moderately priced) delicacies, and space (outdoor as well as indoor).
