Fast Casual Tex Mex Grill. Open Late Night every day.
Very good food for the money if you are a tourist. They are very friendly and cater to the folks visiting. We stopped there three time during the week in San Juan.

This is the largest and one of the oldest restaurants in San Juan del Sur. It is the most popular restaurant serving traditional Nicaraguan beach fare. Located right on the beach! Full service, full bar. Fabulous sunsets!
Our Son ordered the mixed seafood appetizer and it arrived in a deep fried tortilla bowl. There were lobsters as well as other seafood and vegetables in a wonderful tempura. The octopus was flavorful and tender, which can be a challenge. The chicken au gratin, recommended by our waiter, was delicious. It came with rice as well as tempura yucca that looked like French fries. Deeelish We all left extremely satisfied with our meals and service. I believe our waiters name was Reynaldo. He was very knowledgeable about the menu. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Very pleased
We just stopped to rest after a long beach walk, ordered a pitcher of their Sangria, wow it was delicious, and strong. We noticed that several other customers had pizza and La Boquita had a wood fired pizza oven. We will be going back to try some of the pizza

This is located in Rivas. Delicious dishes and a variety of things to choose from. We got churrasco, brocheta de pollo (chicken kabobs) and ceviche. The brochetas de pollo were hearty and delicious. I think it was more than enough food. It came with chips which I would have replaced with tostones but they didn't have any. The service was really good that night. They offer cocktails too but were out of macua. They charge you 15% more if you use a credit card so remember that. It's a cool crowd and good environment for a meal.

Not impressed! Waited quite awhile for service, and it was not friendly. Over charged for chairs. I'd recommend going next door to the hostel restaurant. They were cheaper and quite friendly!
Where to eat Central American food in Tola: The Best Restaurants and Bars
This review actually concerns the bar at Finca Popoyo. We have a place down the beach, so just come for the beach, the waves, the sunset and the cold beer. There simply isn't anything better than a cheap cold beer on bluff overlooking a beautiful beach with the sun going down. This is the vibe I come to Nicaragua for. Great crowd of international beach bums. They serve Tona and Victoria for a $1.25 and although the sign mentions food, all that is normally available at the bar is packaged snacks like taquis and pork rinds. The bar is open air and has seating for 10-20 in chairs, hammocks and on logs. Popoyo beach has a rocky shelf, so you have to be careful where you swim, but the sand is pretty and it runs for a long way north and south.Getting there can be a little tricky, but between local advice and google earth, your adventure will be worth it. In general, head towards Magnificent Rock hotel, but as you approach the last kilometer, look for a gate and road on the right, hopefully you'll see a sign for Finca Popoyo (maybe, maybe not). Just tell the guard you are going up for drinks. They are friendly. Bring cords or dollars, I didn't see a credit card machine.

Really good draught beer! Sadly they dis not have IPA when we were visiting, but they might have it soon. The prices are not that bad either.

This is still the best place to have breakfast if you want something different from a sandwich. They have Nicaraguan breakfasts, American breakfasts and a variety of other tasty food. It is a bit expensive for SJDS but it's definitely worth it.

Da surf spot is a cute little outdoor eating taco stand right on Santana beach within spitting distance from the Rancho Santana clubhouse. Simple tacos, smoothies, chips. Cheap breakfasts and a fun owner who aims to please. A great place to have a cold one after surfing or an Alt lunch or breakfast stop

Cooking with love right at the beach!
We came here for a late night drink and then again for lunch, and both times we were pleasantly surprised. At the late night, we were served beers and smoothies quickly. For the lunch, the food takes a while (20 minutes probably) but it is very fresh and tasty. Plus, itâs right on the beach and the view is incredible. Also, the bathrooms are clean!!
