Find out what Latin restaurants to try in Santo Domingo. Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic and a UNESCO world heritage site, is the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the Americas and one of the most populous cities in the Caribbean. The city is a mix of old world charm and modern Latin flair. Its medieval palaces and fortresses mix with nightlife and shopping to rival any modern city in the world. You'll find pristine beaches and hidden gems like a salsa/merengue club set inside a huge underground cave.

To celebrate my 60th b-day, my Dominican Friend suggested he heard about the Conuco restaurant, I regret have visited it.1. Waiters with attitude, that do not listen to services requests2. the food took too long and it arrived COLD!!, The pork dish I asked , seemed to have been cooked earlier and it was just doused with a pineapple ( say Can/bottle) sauce, Food was cold of course, Mashed potatoes ---cold;, Churrasco---Cold3. No service provided, we had to move outside, and the waitress did not re=provide napkins, she just showed me the paper ones on the table..... for the expense of the food, there is no quality service at allTOURIST TRAP, avoid and save your money, there are better places with better quality food

Buche is the first greenhouse restaurant in the Caribbean, and serve Contemporary Dominican Cousine.
Was here today with our nine month old baby and have to admit, we are very very disappointed. Letâs talk about the good thing first, the theme of the restaurant is very creative for Santo Domingo, itâs a very open space backyard with greens and plants. Other then the theme, there is really nothing else good to say about this place, the waiters basically ignore you whenever you need to ask for something, we ask for a baby chair, and they told us that they donât have any, donât know if we were annoying them or they really donât have baby chair. Next is the food, I guess they are trying to do a modernize dominican food or something, but they are not close at all about being creative. Putting a bunch of micro green on top does that make the food gourmet or creative. The shrimps that my wife order was not fresh, it was soggy and falling apart and it was not properly cleaned, the sand intestine are still inside, the shrimp rice soup that I order does not have much taste or favor, and the appetizer we order feel like itâs something that is from the street cart but put on a plate to look pretty. In general, this is not a place for eat, if you are here for the theme, itâs wonderful, just order Coke or anything from a bottle and you know you are in good hands.

We had the pleasure to visit Nipau in our last trip to DR it was amazing, Alberto Taveras went above and beyond to insure every single detail for us. His recommendations were on point. And he totally made us feel home. We had the spinach deep to die for. And the guinea al vino OMG so delicious. Totally recommended.

Open since 1967, built inside a quaint natural cave, acclaimed by the New York Times as a landmark of the city of Santo Domingo. An eclectic cuisines characterize by fusions of local and Spanish dishes. Recently opened and outdoor terrace with a unique wo
While Santo Domingo has many new great restaitants, El Meson de la Cava is perhaps one of the oldest that has evolved and improved over decades. It is actually situated in a natural cave, now accessible with an elevator. Good Service from pleasant waiters and good local and international food is on the menu. Above the cave they have built a beaurifil grill with live musiv and dancing floor. I prefer dining in the cave.

The First Tavern of the Americas, est.1505 Exquisite Cuisine, Casual Ambiance
Just back from our last meal on the island and...wow. perfect in so many ways. Read some reviews that were not good--mainly service and price. Our service was awesome-Gracias Manuel (Larry!). Dinner was expensive by DR standards but well worth it. We had drinks, apple/shrimp app, theee dinners and a dessert for $6000 DP. Could not eat this well in the US for that amount! Steak was perfect for son and I. Wife had curry shrimp. All was great! Totally recommend for special dinner!

Likely the best food Iâve had in my 15 years of traveling to the Dominican Republic. The ceviches in particular are fantastic, as is their variety of fish. Someone else ordered apps, and I took one bite and said âTHAILAND!â, sure enough it was the Asian influenced Ceviche! Bold flavors, excellently cooked. Order the red snapper grilled, keep it simple. Love this place!

Nice place with a variety of food, very interesting. Fish any kind, sushi roll options, etc. Music is good, service is good, could be more friendly (a smile will make the difference). Good prices for the nice and fresh ingredients. One of my places in Sto. Domingo
