Reviews on Latin food in Quito, Pichincha Province, Ecuador. With a rich pre-Colombian history, Ecuador's capital was founded on the ruins of an Incan city but offers everything a modern traveler might need. It remains the least-altered historic center in Latin America and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Quito’s important sites include baroque gems like San Francisco and Santo Domingo monasteries, as well as La Compañía church and college. This huge city sprawls across a breathtaking Andean valley surrounded by volcanic peaks.

Fried Bananas is a cozy restaurant with a casual and relaxed atmosphere, right next to the main tourist plaza in La Mariscal. Our prices are much lower than one would expect given the quality of the food and service. We feature a variety of seafood, Ecuad
You ring the bell on the wooden doors & enter a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were helpful, our Spanish is very limited. The vegetable soup with chicken was delicious, we had the local bananas fried, fantastic. My husband had the shrimp with rice, also very tasty. I had toast with the soup & also fried potatoes, which were lightly seasoned & thick, very good. I would recommend this restaurant. They also offered to show us places to visit in Quito. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

We came with my 14-ywar old friends and had delicious food and great cocktails for the adults. Service is excellent too. Escarly, our server was very accommodating to the kids and us. Great attitude. When I decided to create a restaurant where domestic and foreign people would sit and enjoy the delicious Cuban cuisine in Ecuador, my main motivation was to place at all my customer's disposal my many years of experience devoted to haute cuisine. The sme
After a few days of eating at fast food places because I thought they were more "budget" I decided I needed a proper meal and went here because it was already well reviewed. The food was excellent and the portions generous and still very reasonably priced.I ordered a chickpea starter and ropa vieja for main which came with three sides of your choosing. All were delicious but the portions quite large I couldn't finish my main so if you have a smaller appetite maybe only have one course. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food delicious and great value for money and I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.Muchas gracias por su comentario, eso nos ayuda a seguir trabajando para mantener el servicio y la calidad que el cliente espera de nosotros,Saludos.

We are a traditional business with 60 years of tradition in Quito, we always give aour best to make happiest guest with quality and service. Is a tradicional dish that combines Cost and the Andes.
This is not a restaurant, it is a food kiosk, equivalent to food cart inside the Mercado central a covered area with many such food kiosks. It occupies the end unit. The Covina comes with yellow or their version of ceveche , a soupy dish with shrimp, interesting... The Covina is fried only, nice crunchy outside tender and moist inside, quite tasty and a good Value $6. very helpful servers, friendly and spent time to get me an off menu cervesa Grande for only $2.will be back. a

ACHIOTE ECUADOR-CUISINE, we are the entrepreneurship of a small Quito family that has an extensive culinary tradition, where you can not only enjoy Ecuadorian food, but also feel the warmth of a home and a country located in the heart of the Andes . The r
The food is amazing Ecuadorian cuisine in a intimate setting. The ambiance was made more so the first evening with a live musician playing soft native guitar music. A soothing escape from the busy streets of the Mariscal. The wait staff was super-attentive without being annoying. We had many other restaurant choices for our second night in Quito but decided to go back to Achiote and had the exact same truly 5-star experience.

Everyone mentions how great Zazu is when in town. We had three courses. The bar is nice and drinks tasty but tonight we sat there for 45 minutes waiting for our 6:30 first seating reservation. We were told they open at 7 and also had a one off issue with staff which is fine but why book us 1/2 hour before dinner begins? Corn soup is great. Mushroom soup is tasty but not deserving its $14 tag. Pork taquitos were Great! Wife felt the Andean grains were ok but I felt it was a weak serving of corn. Grouper grilledperfect but lacked any wonderful seasoning and left unfinished. Filet mignon-one of my two pieces was perfect the other a bit chewy both MR and cooked nicely but lacked a good crust or tasty seasoning. We averaged out our experience and at $122 I'm going with Ok. I've had better steaks and fish and soups. Just two peoples opinions based on travel thru Europe and Peru.

This was one of the more interesting dinning experiences weâve ever had, no doubt. The tasting menu was an adventure in more ways than one. That said, almost none of the food was âmind blowingâ in terms of taste. Should you give it a try? I think so. Will you be blown away by the taste of the food? Perhaps. We werenât, but then again, âthereâs no accounting for tasteâ. Hi MGStickler,We love to read such positive and constructive review. Thank you for sharing it with the community. We highly appreciate that you enjoyed the gastronomical adventure of our tasting menu. Everything from the urban garden experience to the very last bonbon you tried is thought to share a little of our culture with guests. If ever around, don´t forget to visit us. We would be delighted to have you here again.Best regards,Urko.

Ecuadorian cuisine with national product. Enhancing the gastronomic culture of Ecuador. Typical and author food
Every dish was excellent--empanadas, main courses (we both had pork), and a lovely piece of carrot cake for dessert. The atmosphere/decor was modern, sprinkled with cultural artifacts. The staff was very attentive. The prices were quite reasonable. Great experience, highly recommended!

Iâve been here twice since Iâve been in Quito for one week. My friends and I are obsessed with the mushroom steamed buns (canât remember their name, but they also can be made with meat). In addition to their food, they also have amazing chocolate chip cookies, and donât skip the guanabana y moro juice. Iâm going to miss it when I go back home.
