Another aficionado of Mexican food tipped me off about this place. It's in as non-descript a strip mall on Rt.46 as there is, but the food is very good and quite inexpensive. Once I discovered that it was on the way to the framer I use regularly I stated timing my trips. I have been there now three times for lunch. I am no expert, but the food tastes really authentic to me. Twice I've had the enchiladas with chile verde and they were fantastic. The last time I went I had two tacos al pastor and two al suadero, both delicious. I was with a friend and we shared guacamole and chips and it had a great kick and nice chunks of avocado. My friend is Latina and convinced me to try the agua fresca de tamarindo which was a great discovery - never would have on my own. The place has zero atmosphere, but the woman in charge is very friendly and is happy to explain things. I haven't tried any of the Peruvian dishes yet, I'm always looking for decent Mexican. At least at lunch time they do a lot of take-out.

Bandeja paisa - an orgy of pork and steak. The chicarron made my eyes roll back into my head. The shrimp was excellent. Beans and rice: excellent, but heck if a Colombian joint cant make good rice n' beans!Don't wait - go and enjoy! BYOB Prices are very reasonable.

Gal pal and I met here for lunch. First, I asked for a pinot grigio - they were out (?) I ended up with a Presidente beer but the guy didn't offer a glass so I went with that.Gal friend got a reisling. She got a vegetarian wrap which looked good and she took half home. I got the Cuban sandwich and also took half home. The fries are really good and crisp here. The waiter asked me if I wanted another beer, I said no. He took the beer bottle even though there was still some in there - ha! The place is just gorgeous inside, the music was good but a bit too loud for lunch time. We're glad you enjoyed our fries and atmosphere -- we love it when people find a new and great place for lunch! If you ever need to be seated somewhere quieter, we can try and accommodate you. You need only ask -- we'd be happy to help!Till next time,Management

During a convention this past weekend in Parsippany, NJ we stopped here for a quick bite after setting up our table for the event. It was approximately 5-10 minutes from Hyatt House Parsippany where we were staying. The food came quickly and their freshly made tomatillo salsa was such a delicious departure from the red salsa which I love anyway. We had the flautas and a burrito, the portions were huge and we were able to make two meals out of that lunch. Which is always a plus. So I definitely recommend Maddy's .

If you're sick of the typical restaurant routine, this is a refreshing change of pace. The location is humble, with about six tables and a small bathroom. But the food speaks for itself. The menu offering is whatever they cooked that day. As we were first timers, they patiently explained how the menu worked (very friendly staff). We ordered beans and yellow rice, the beef stew, the roasted chicken, empanadas, plantains and a side of coleslaw, which was surprisingly good. The beef stew was very tasty, although we were served the last of the portion which was a little small. The roasted chicken was excellent, but a little on the dry side. I imagine if we'd had it fresh out of the oven it would have been fantastic. Really liked the rice and beans and the empanada was an easy winner. I liked that it's BYOB and by the time we were leaving (stuffed) there was literally a line out the door. Will definitely come back to explore more of the menu. Excellent value -- the buffet style service keeps the price down.
