It was a new place to try. I was seated. I had a nice waitress. The service was good. Some of the meats... well, pends on what you get. The price is sky high.

My family has been going here for years. Not sure what has changed but I would not recommend this place to anyone now. There were 3 adults at our recent dinner and while the food was good, everything else was miserable. When the hostess finally came out, we had been waiting so long to notice it was hot and humid inside the entrance. We specifically asked if the AC was working and if it was - please seat us in a conditioned area.We were seated in a booth where the overhead AC unit had filled up the towel and was leaking on to my mother so we moved ourselves over one booth as nobody was around to help us.When pointing out the constant dripping off water at the original table and it was still miserably hot and humid - no apologies, just an acknowledgement that we changed tables. The server was very nice, but seems as if he was immune to similar complaints. One of the utensils was filthy and was replaced. While sitting in the hot and humid restaurant, the food took forever to get to the table. We all 3 ordered off the menu without any substitutions - generic Latin food and we waited in the heat and humidity forever. The one positive is that the food was as good as it has been in the past... just took longer than usual to get to us while we were sweating at the table. This has been one of our favorite places to eat in the past 5 years. Not sure what happened, but I can't recommend it now to anyone. DavidJustDavid, I am very sorry to hear about your recent poor experience with us. I apologize for the leaking AC unit and that the uncomfortable temperature made your evening less enjoyable. I am sorry to hear that your service was not up to our usual standards. These issues are uncharacteristic of our restaurant and do not reflect what we have to offer. I hope that we will get a second to leave you with a better experience! Best, Renu P. (Chef / Owner)

Taco Bamba

After perusing the lengthy menu, I decided on the Korean barbecue taco and the namesake taco bamba. My wife had two crispy shrimp tacos. Wow, I thought the Korean barbecue with Brussels sprouts kimchi was amazing. While the taco bamba was colorful and tasty, I don’t think it came close to the other one I chose. My wife loved the shrimp, and our friends enjoyed their stewed chicken quesadilla and fish tacos. Our meal was made more memorable because we sat at the counter in front of the kitchen, where the employees worked tirelessly at preparing patrons orders. The level of activity as well as the quality of food reminded me of my other favorite Mexican restaurant, Pancho Villa Taqueria on 16th st. in SF. Two pieces of advice. First, check out the menu before arriving. There are some amazing choices, making it hard to decide before it’s your turn to order. Second, don’t just grab some of the tasty sauces at the sauce bar. Why? Because these tacos don’t need any enhancements; they are amazing on their own. I felt bad because I had to throw away the sauces picked while waiting for my order.
