I am a local and just found this restaurant, its next to the anthonys on Murray drive in La Mesa , they have the BEST fish tacos I have ever had!!!
Not recommended, adequate but good to one of the other 480 options for Mexican food in San Diego. Staff was friendly but disorganized. Sunday brunch was about $17 with a serve-yourself buffett, not very appetizing. Several regular customers were getting all the waiters attention. I would have left about two minutes after we arrived but we stayed and my first impressions were accurate. We went because I saw an advertisement in "The Reader". Appears to be owned by same folks as Troy's Greek Restaurant in Grantville. Will not be back.

Based on reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp, we decided to try this restaurant as it was near where we were staying during our trip to San Diego. It's a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but we've found that these places tend to have the best food. We weren't disappointed as this was one of the best Mexican meals that we had during our trip. I ordered the Pollo Asado burrito, and it was excellent. Others in our party ordered the carne Asada burritos, and they were equally pleased. I would definitely recommend the carne asada fries as well. I'd never had them before, and I can only say that I wish I could find a place in my hometown that made them. They're basically nachos, but instead of chips, they use french fries! If you're in the mood for really good mexican, and don't mind eating in a small, simple restaurant, then I would definitely recommend El Pollo Grill.

My wife and I visited the La Casa Blanca Mexican restaurant in La Mesa last week, and again had a wonderful meal. Cesar our server was again so Funny and bubbly, as he hustled around the restaurant handling many tables with the same professional attitude. You want to come back to this restaurant over and over again just because of the great time you have with Cesar serving your table. He is so Funny. My wife had a Chili Verde Burrito plate with rice and beans which was huge, and delicious with a lot of tender Pork Meat. I had combination # 3 on the menu, which is the Chili Relleno & Cheese Enchilada Plate. The Chili Relleno at this restaurant are HUGE, and the most delicious I have ever had at any Mexican restaurant. The Cheese Enchilada and the rice and beans are also very good. German the restaurant owner came our table by 3 times, to make sure that we were happy with everything we were served. On Wednesday's thru Sunday's, La Casa Blanca has a lady, Dona Lupe, in the restaurant making homemade fresh Hot tortillas for everyone to enjoy. They are so good ! And try there Happy Hour Margarita for 2 people ( check the picture). It is 48 oz. and is so good, and so hard to finish, because it is so BIG ! La Casa Blanca is a small but beautifully decorated Mexican Theme restaurant. You feel as if you are in Puerto Vallarta Mexico with the colors and decorations. A great place to enjoy some very good Mexican cuisine. Check it out, you will not be disappointed!Delete review

Here at Ranas we offer authentic Mexico City dishes and dishes from the central region of Mexico. We are family owned and operated since 2004.
Sometimes finding a neighborhood restaurant with savory dishes, excellent choices, and great prices that has polite, professional and helpful servers can be seen as a blessing. At Ranas you have all of this in addition to a very clean, safe and friendly environment that is well managed and out performs most other restaurants for a really good and filling breakfast. As well as many mores breakfast's, I intend to enjoy lunch and dinner there for years to come. When you are lucky enough to find a perfect spot that brings you great pleasure, enjoy it as often as you can because memories are just not nourishing enough should opportunities to visit ever end.

On a Saturday evening when I want to stay home and watch movies but I want good food this is my go to. The portions are excellent. I will often get lunch and dinner from one order. And they have something for everyone.

At Casa de Pico in La Mesa, guests can enjoy outdoor patio dining year-round, surrounded by trees, colorful flowers and splashing fountains. Rounding out the Mexican dining experience are the strolling mariachis and famous award-winning giant margaritas.
We met our local friends who highly recommended this restaurant to satisfy our craving for good Mexican food and it lived up to our high expectations. We had to wait for about 20 minutes to be seated for dinner but once we were in, we had great service. Our orders were brought out very quickly and all the food tasted so much better than any Mexican restaurant on the east coast. The margaritas were some of the largest sizes we had ever seen and the food proportions were also on the large side. I don't think anyone in our party were able to finish their plates and we gave all our leftovers to our local friends. I look forward to visiting this place again on our next visit.
