Went with the reviews and ordered the four types of shrimp. The right call, nice fresh shrimp cooked perfectly. The service was friendly and professional, spot on. Nice table in the outside, looking at the pool would have been perfect except there was an exercise class above the restaurant with booming music duelling with a crooner in the courtyard. This ruined what would be a perfect experience. Bit hard to find and out of the way but worth it.

We've been a tradicional and peaceful restaurant since 1985. We're recognized for our excellent service, clean instalations and warmaly service. Glad to have you soon for enjoying our delicious breaksfast and the new dinner menu. Thanks you for the pleasu
Nueva Zelanda Ixtapa is a great little 50's diner that is in a great location with great prices and friendly service. It offers really good coffee and a very decent breakfast. It has the best green juice in Ixtapa; you can even order it to go for 35 pesos and I did. Enjoy 50's tunes and memorabilia ... there is even astroturf underfoot and nice bathrooms. We went there three or four times in our 21 day trip.

Our annual trip to Ixtapa would not be complete without a visit to El Calabozo! Actually we stopped almost every day of our two week vacation and we were staying at an all inclusive! The food, atmosphere, and drinks are amazing.. BUT - what makes it so perfect is Cecilio! He has a "make this your casa" attitude that is truly worth stopping for! The food has always been tasty. We have never been disappointed. ( We celebrated my sisters birthday there in 2015. More than enough tasty food, cocktails, and even a special dessert!) They will concoct any beverage you desire - or just order one off their large menu. However - the thing that really sets them apart is service. Cecelio and the entire staff are there to accommodate. It feels like family. For a fun evening, stop by and watch the old music videos playing while you enjoy everything about El Calabozo. We miss our friend "Cexy Boy" (Cecelio) and can't wait to return in 2017.

The restaurant is very colourfully decorated with lots of seating and although it overlooks the parking lot, there is great people watching and the beautiful boulevards are just beyond. We ordered the "Infierno" special which included eggs mixed with sausage, bacon, pancakes, juice and coffee. The server brought toast and jam before the breakfast arrived and was included in the meal. Although the menu doesn't have a section for smoothies, they do make them and are cold and delicious. Very good food. We ate there twice on this vacation and liked it better than the breakfast at Momma Norma's.
