Following a long bus ride we happened upon this charming restaurant. We had a large salad, simple but fresh and safe to eat, some guacamole and chips and a sandwish. Everytging was tasty, nothing fancy. The servive was outstanding and the decor of the restaurant absolutely lovely.

La tradicion de comer rico y sano. The best ecuadorian food.
Fritadas AmazonasIt is an exceptional place to visit, the interior is very pleasant spacious especially the comfort of the chairs, has a typical and familiar atmosphere, ideal to go with family friends or co-workers, offering a little varied menu (fries, typical dish Of the Ecuadorian sierra that consists of pig meat, steamed potatoes, mote type corn and roasted) but of a very good flavor. The service is very good, the weekends are usually very crowded, they do not have craft beer but if chicha is very rich by the way, the prices seem to me not very expensive. We went with the family back from Ibarra to San Lorenzo and we were all satisfied. The meat is very well prepared and the various companions were very good, they have a rich seasoning for the pieces of pork with good corn cobs a rich chili and a shale fresh cow's milk cheese a formidable attention. An excellent place to eat and relax with family, if you visit Ibarra do not miss going to this place, you will be completely satisfied and looking forward to returning to this place.

On my first two visits I thoroughly enjoyed my meals - delicious combination plates with some of the tastiest guacamole. In fact, the food was so good, I make the trip from Ibarra to Otavalo specifically to eat here. This time, I wasnât as enamored with the food. I had a combination plate (half chicken, half beef). The beef was dry and tough; the chicken was good until I bit into several small pieces of bone! The guacamole was still very good. Service was (and always has been) very friendly with English spoken. Prices are quite reasonable.

Our driver guided us to La Marquesa for lunch on our day trip to Cotacachi. The restaurant is reasonably priced, but the food was pretty up and down. The locro (potato soup) and steak were both good, but the trout and cuy weren't. The trout was advertised as a filet, but was actually a whole fish breaded and fried! The cuy was also deep fried, and I would recommend roast cuy for a first-timer. The place can also be a bit loud. Overall, this is a decent stop, but we liked the restaurants in Otavalo a lot more.

We are facing the Plaza de los Ponchos on the second floor, perfect for admiring the handicraft market, we have a balcony to take pictures and enjoy a coffee exelentes outdoor
Balcon de Imbabura is located at the Plaza de Ponchos. From the second floor it overlooks the plaza. This small restaurant serves Mexican style food at reasonable prices. We started with the nachos con carne and had burritos that were good. The pork ribs/ chop were just pork smothered in BBQ sauce and not great. The service was good and the food was alright. I'd give Balcon de Imbabura a solid "Good". The location is perfect after a busy time shopping, but there are better restaurants a little further away from the Plaza.

A very decent and beautiful restaurant (in terms of exterior, interior, atmosphere and location). Took a taxi for USD5 from Otavalo city centre. Setting is so nice next to the lake, with swings and a small piece of grassland with alpacas nearby. The food is traditional Ecuador. But I didn't fine food yummy here. I ordered a chef traditional mix with chicken. It looks good but not tasty at all. The chicken cubes are chewy and dry. Overall once is enough, just for the views. I gave 4 rating basically for the atmosphere.

Sometimes your not sure how it happens that you find the best food in the middle of another country.I've eaten at dozens of Peruvian restaurants in Ecuador, but this place is number one. Welcomed warmly by the owner Fernando with his wife Patti watching while cooking in the kitchen with their son David. I had the most delicious seafood soup EVER! My girlfriend had Triologia de Mariscos and her daughters had a Causa Limena and Lomo (steak) dish. Food was fresh and deliciously prepared with love and pride. If you pass this by your missing a great meal!
