My husband and I visited Libertad after a show at Skokie theater for a late dinner. We were so glad that we found this gem! Welcoming and friendly staff that still believes in customers service. The food was perfectly flavored and the presentation was excellent. The quality of the food was definitely fine dining but in a casual atmosphere. Loved it! Thanks Libertad for an excellent experience!

The food and service were excellent. They made my father a combo plate at his request which was not on the menu. The staff and owners treated my mother like a queen for her birthday. Sombrero, extra appetizer and special mango crepe with caramel sauce and a candle for dessert. We highly recommend the fajitas. Everything's made fresh and perfectly cooked.

I love this place! Its fresh and enthusiastic about its offerings. The aromas are warm and inviting. Even their Food Truck has attitude; it's a converted ambulance.Yet it's very laid back. Is casual enthusiasm a good thing? Here it is.Delicious habanero sauce that doesn't sacrifice flavor for heat. Wonderful fish and pork tacos. Delicious plantains, be they savory or sweet. The tostones (savory) come with an aioli chimichurri made with love. They take care with their sauces and it shows.

indoor and outdoor seating.Don't be dismayed if the door is open on a hot summer day/night. The air conditioning IS on -- they are just trying to get more circulation inside.Everything is delicious. I have already worked my way through everything vegetarian on the menu, and my friends vouch for the non-veggie stuff they have tried. Don't miss the basket of free Mexican candy, lollipops and gum at the register -- all that's missing at this Taco Party is the pinata.

Eleven of us to celebrate two birthdays. Ages 10-82. Rebecca did a nice job of serving. An initial problem with poor seating arrangement and location, after booking with precise description. Objected. Promptly relocated to more intimate, non-confined location.Food was very good. No complaints. Mostly favorable comments. Orders:Tostadas steak, enchiladas dinner, kids flautas, fajitas vegatarianas, pollo borracho, kids tacos/lechuga, carne tampiquena,, taqiza d cameron (eh! popcorn shrimp used), fajita combo with extra veggie and tilapia rellena de cangre. satisfied the vegetarian diners and the carnivores as well as kids. "Suggested" gratuity of 20% explicitly added to total. Avg. cost $22 plus (included two margaritas.) Had a lot of fun. .Sombreros and "happy birthday" singing. So far this is the best Mexican restaurant discovered on the North Shore. Friendly Mexican atmosphere, well attended and busy.
