We drive by this place every time we head to Fort Myers and we never thought to stop. Tried it for the first time in July and now my husband drives to Tampa through Clewiston just to pass Jalepenos! This place is AWESOME! Super authentic food with a huge salsa bar and indoor seating. Are there flies outside? Yes. Is the area rough? Yes. Is it worth it? HECK YES!!! The chorizo is flavorful and made in house. The steak is quality meat with no fatty or grizzle pieces. Prices are awesome and the food is delicioso! Can't wait to visit Clewiston again!

I have to say I was really apprehensive about stopping here due to the mixed reviews. However, our group of six decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. I think a lot of people just don't get the traditional Cuban Cafe experience. Don't get upset because the wait staff is doting on the "regulars", as they are the bread and butter of these places. The furnishings may be dated but we found it to be clean. The bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. Our food was very good and included Cuban sandwiches, croquettas, bistake Palomilla, black beans and rice, and plantains. Don't come with high expectations for anything but the food and you won't be disappointed!

Hard to find, tiny little hole in the wall but the food was worth the search. Jeanne and I discovered this tiny gem on our way to Miami last fall. We found it again on our return trip after a search. The parking lot has room for five cars and is shared with a self laundry on the corner. Inside is very simple, five tables sharing the room with a regulation sized pool table. We shared Mexican beef for lunch. First course was a home made delicious bean soup. The beef came smothered with peppers and onions. A small salad, refried beans, and rice completed the meal. There was more than enough food to satisfy even the largest appetite. It was terrific. This is Mexican food cooked for Mexicans. The menu is diverse with a lot of seafood choices. If you're in the area you should considered stopping by for lunch or dinner. It will be worth your time.
