Reviews on Latin food in Albany, New York, United States. A rich 300-year history, a thriving arts community and seemingly endless wilderness make this New York capital city on the Hudson River a great weekend getaway. Outdoor enthusiasts come here to ski, hike, canoe and fish; trout and small-mouth bass fishing is among the best in the U.S. Mountains surround the city, and the tapestry of golds and reds on an autumn day is breathtaking. The city is dominated by an elaborate 10-building complex that includes the State Capitol; the New York State Museum, with life-like dioramas such as American Indian life and an Adirondack logging operation; and the oval-shaped Empire State Performing Arts Center, nicknamed "The Egg." History buffs will enjoy the colonial homes, historic churches and museums, and can tour 18th-century mansions, like the Schuyler, a superb example of pre-Revolutionary War architecture. Whether nature or history is your passion, you'll find an abundance of both in this upstate New York gem.

We went here for lunch on a Friday. We were seated within 5 minutes. We both ordered the Paella and it was excellent. There are not many good Mexican restaurants in the Albany NY area, but this will be our place to go to for Mexican food.

Salsa Latina

We've come here at least monthly, our last visit was Friday November 30, 2018. Right in the heart of the "Little UN" strip on Central Ave, Albany, NY, roughly from Quail to Robin Sts. There are numerous ethnic restaurants on these blocks. So lots to choose from and lots of competition for the public's dollars. We have been here many times. And are never disappointed. They offer Tex-Mex fare, authentic Mexican dishes, and have added Peruvian cusine items such as cerviche and whole crispy red snapper. I've had the red snapper twice now and it is a unique treat. My wife enjoys the Tilapia Rancheros or steak fajitas. NOTE: if you're really hungry try the all you can eat $7 lunch & $12 dinner buffets on Mondays. Kids eat for $.99 on Sundays & Tuesdays, Margarita specials on Wednesdays. And futbol in Spanish is almost always on the bar TV. And modern Spanish language music is also played in the restaurant. Good selections of cuervas (beers) & tequilas, frozen, on-the-rocks, or shots. Many choices of tequila by quality and size of the margaritas. Also serve vinos (wines). Our opinion is that Salsa Latina consistently offers high quality food & drink at a great value. Our visit $87.96 for two entrees, three wines, two reposado ttequilas on the rocks, and tax. The two of us and two teen grandkids have had lunch here for under $50. Our server this evening wasMayela who was smiling and pleasant throughout a very busy evening. Keep up the fine cusine and service amigos. Muy Bueno and Gracias.

After I saw their menu online, I had to visit. I'm vegetarian and they have some great looking vegetarian options.I got the three enchiladas: creamy spinach, cheese, and beans. The beans one wasn't spectacular, but I loved the other two. The cheese wasn't your typical cheese. So good. The rice was ok.Great chips and they give you a carafe full of salsa so you don't have to keep asking. I ate it all : \ But it was that good. I got tres leches which was only ok.Service was good and there was no wait and there was quick service on this Thursday evening around 6.Restaurant isn't terribly far from Washington Park so that you can walk off your dinner.
