Find out what Korean restaurants to try in Pyeongtaek. Pyeongtaek (Korean pronunciation: [pʰjʌŋ.tʰɛ̝k̚]) is a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Located in the southwestern part of the province, Pyeongtaek was founded as a union of two districts in 940, during the Goryeo dynasty. It was elevated to city status in 1986 and is home to a South Korean naval base and a large concentration of United States troops. The South Korean government plans to transform Pyeongtaek city to an international economic hub to coincide with the move of the United States Forces Korea (USFK) to Pyeongtaek. During the Korean War it was the site of an early battle between U.S. and North Korean forces, the Battle of Pyongtaek. It is the location of Pyeongtaek University.

The Beef Bulgogi was delicious and the chicken fried rice. This place never disappoints. You can opt to grill your meat for Korean BBQ. They have a wide selection of beverages. A quaint restaurant. Not a lot of people and good service.
This is the same owner as the restaurant outside Camp Stanley, with a slightly smaller seating area (not in the street) and a bar! The food is always very tasty, and you better plan on taking some home as the portions are very large. I highly recommend the sweet and sour chicken, but i don't like hot things- my friends highly recommend the Meat Jun with cheese which is about 4 peoples worth of food. Many of the standard korean plates are available on request. It is cheaper than the other things near post, but not middle of Seoul cheap.

We went there for dinner and had the pork ribs, they were delicious. The portions were perfect and filling. I would go there again without hesitation.

I heard a lot of good reviews about this place from my coworkers, so I thought I'd give it a try. Their specialty is obviously chicken, but they also have several side dishes, salads, and rice to choose from. There are two locations in Songtan on the same street, about 50 feet away from each other. One is more formal (I think it has more Korean type cooking) with a black exterior. The other is less formal with take-out, showing red awnings (Sakusaku Chicken) in the front. This is the one I went to. There are only around seven tables and it's rather cramped inside. It's fairly clean. The tables are short and you sit on padded stools. It's very informal, don't go dressed up.I ordered the Hot Garlic Chicken and the Shrimp Fried Rice. The chicken had some spice "kick" to it that's for sure, and the fried rice was OK. The chicken did taste fresh and had a slight sweetness to it. It was good, but might have been slightly on the greasy side. You'll need a few napkins. If your in the mood to try Korean fried chicken, you want to give this establishment a try.
Here is a restaurant the my family has been visiting for 7 years on a bi-weekly basis. You grill your own meat at your table and serve it up in a lettuce or sesame leaf for a delightful treat you will never forget. Do not forget to order Toth-shi-da (memory box (shake vigurously before opening) with your dinner and Mool-name-yong (cold noodle soup) (add musturd and vinegar sparingly) after dinner is complete. I guarantee you will make this a routine stop when in the area.10 minute walk from Osan AB. Please excuse the spelling of meals, phonitically close though.
CY ( 2016.11.21 ) I and my wife visited for lunch with gomtang. This restaurant was broadcasted several times in famous TV program. There was many people waiting, so we waited about 20 minutes. We ordered gomtang and ox-tail gomtang, that's excellent. The gomtang was very delicious and the kimchi was very good. This gomtang was recommendable.

Apparently this place is really popular. It's just your run of the mill budaejiggae restaurant. Nothing set it apparat from any other place except for the unkind waitresses.
This is a medium sized restaurant that allows tradition Korea floor seating as well as westernized tables/chairs. 2-ducks will feed 8 people along with the sides they bring and we ordered 2-sets of dumplings. Plenty of food and the pumpkin/squash was really good and paired wonderfully with the duck and horseradish mustard.
