I found a review about Yufu Mabushi Shin Kinrinko Honten on a Japanese website. so when we traveled to Yufu, we put this restaurant on our itinerary. we ordered two chicken sets and two beef sets. the clay pot rice were delicious, fresh cooked ( a little bit of wait). the starters were cooked with seasonal vegetables (vegetarian), taste was very ordinary. we spent good time enjoyed our meals there, no one rush you, no one speaks loud. the whole experience was amazing!

First stop for lunch after arriving in Fuyuin. We arrived early so had good seats for eight. Tried the cold and hot soba, the latter comes with duck broth. One of best soba ever eaten, and this is hand made.
Takeo-don and soba salad are must items to eat. It’s like watching a cooking program by observing how a chef is preparing dishes in front of customers. How he sliced cucumbers and mini tomatoes was so wonderful that one cannot but just admire his skills.たけお丼とそばサラダは必ず食べるべきです。時間は多少かかりますが、目の前で準備するその手さばきには驚嘆。キュウリとトマトはこれでもかと言うくらいの薄切り。時間が許せば試してみるべき料理店です。

I think this is the best place to eat sushi in this prefecture. The fish is cut big size and the Shari( Rice ) is good hardness. My favorite "Neta" are "Salmon" and "Akagai"!! you should try!
The colour blue is hypnotic and you'll be tempted by the basket of eggs cooking in the pond. You can buy these to try. I didn't because, well... eggs. Still it's worth the visit!

Yufuin info center recommended me this restaurant so I tried without big expectation. Location is near to Kinrinko lake and very nice atmosphere. I love the meat and chicken stock soup. The rice ball was also very nice. It was the best Wagyu I ever had in my life. Staff are kind and very friendly. If you are fed up with convenient store bento, or small restaurant's dishes, pls try this one while in Yufuin.

Had dinner with the family on a weekend night. The restaurant was packed, mostly with locals, but the queue moved quite quickly. Food quality was excellent, with very fresh sashimi and delicious hotpot set meals offered. Service was fast and efficient. Price for the meal was very reasonable, which might explain its popularity. The restaurant has a small carpark next to it, where patrons can park for free. But it is small, with only about 5-6 lots. Paid parking is available close by as well.

Simple menu with basically 3 choices - beef (highly recommended), chicken and eel. Comes in a set with amazing side dishes and different sauces of which the preserved barley one and the spicy yuzu one were my favourites. These really enhanced the flavour of the perfect beef slices that were served on fragrant rice in a hot pot. The restaurant was full at 6pm on a week night so reservations are a must to ensure you get a seat. Prices are reasonable and service is no frills fast.

Went to Hajime Sushi for dinner and ordered the sushi platter. All I could say is WOW! The seafood is fresh! I guess that explains why the restaurant is packed and even the Japanese made reservations before coming. We were lucky to get seats. ❤️

Established in Beppu Kitahama in 1976. Our specialty is "Wafu Chanpong" with plenty of vegetables with noodles fried in a Japanese style soup.
