It is the birthplace of Adoniran Barbosa. Valinhos is famous for its purple fig, the theme of its annual Fig Fest. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of Campinas. The population is 120,258 (as of 2015) in an area of 148.54 square kilometres (57.35 square miles). Its elevation is 660 m (2,165.35 ft). Its name means 'little valleys' in Portuguese.

Brazilian Chinese food is never very good anyway, but this takes the biscuit. Everything fried in cheap, two-week-old oil, which oozed out of everything we cut into. Avoid at all costs.

Owner is Japanese family. Excellent fresh fish. Shimeji prepared and served on hot plate. Many kinds of Japanese and Chinese food. The interior is simple but clean. Prices are reasonable.

First time visited this restaurant in March/14 and it was good. Not fantastic but good. I went again on May/14 and it was disappointed. Tried again in June and July. Noticed the service went down hill. The tuna was terrible. I complained to the manager but he insisted the fish "is always fresh". The plates were ready but the waiter never picked up to bring to the table. I think it will be hard to come again.

They did a good job on bring some innovations, with several sushis with fruits flavors, although the more traditionalists may hate them... The food is good, but services gets poor on peak hours.
