We had a lovely dinner here. The ambience was nice. We sat in nice booths around live fish tanks. Food was beautifully presented. Each course was extremely tasty and we were really full at the end.

I enjoyed the shabu shabu here. I would recommend one of the three menu set choices. There is also the area where you can get some sushi, dessert and the vegetables, tofu, noodles and sauces for the shabu shabu. Sometimes there is a wait, but I was lucky this evening to be seated right away.

Every time I make my way to Utsunomiya, I must stop by here to have either the tonkatsu don or tonkatsu curry! They serve finely sliced cabbage as a salad, which is absolutely delicious and you can ask for another serving, at no cost. Service is excellent and so is the food. If you dine here regularly, you can have a stamp card filled and when it is, you get 500Â¥ off your next order. There is also an English menu, if needed.

As one of our Utsunomiya gyoza tour, we chose here as it was right in front of the station. None of us could tell any flavour of meet. Sorry, but I can do much better gyoza myself.

This is a eel speciality shop.A short walk (10mins) from the JR station. We decided to give a try since we like eel. No English spoken. But super friendly elderly couple that runs the place. The place serves other food besides eel like sashimi, eel liver skewers and some other stuff (steam yam), which we are not familiar. Average price from 2700y to 3500y for the eel rice box.The basic set is either grilled or steam eel (large or small portion). That should get you going but the restaurant allows smoking and serves alcohol too.Btw - Kawasemi is a king fisher bird

The new emporium which becomes Kitakantou first branch opened in 3F of "hotel Earl Utsunomiya of Mets" directly connected with the JR line "Utsunomiya Station" western exit! One in the store puts a counter seat table seat together, and, all 64 seats. It's
This is one of the branch sushi restaurants of "Tsukiji Kiyomura Sushi-Zanmai" located next to the JR East Utsunomiya Station (West Exit side). Although Tochigi-ken, where Utsunomiya is the prefectural capital, has no sea, with its Tsukiji Connection, the restaurant serves excellent and fresh fish and sushi menus. The owner of the restaurant chain is known for buying the best and most exclusive (thus expensive) tuna fish in the first tuna fish auction in the beginning of each year; in 2012 he spent over Euro one million for a tuna fish! His enthusiasm for serving best quality tuna fish is well known and appreciated among the Customers. Here the menu offers photo for most of the selections; they do understand some basic English as well. So being a non-Japanese customer one will have less problems for choosing what he/she want to eat. Day's Specials are on the wall but for this you need to read Japanese; this said one should ask chef/hall staff. Staff as well as chef are kind and helpful!Best way to enjoy the food here is to find a seat on a counter, facing to the chef, and choose what you want to try from the display case in front of you. One can enjoy either sashimi or nigiri(sushi). Here one should not fail to try good "tuna" - be it fatty tuna, or medium fatty tuna or simple red meat tuna; depending on type of tuna fish, one can really enjoy delicate and yet powerful tuna taste. There are other menu selections you can find in other places - if you like you can go for them. There are some menu which are not in the menu on the table so if you have any special wish, do ask (but nicely!)For a business dinner there is a semi closed area with four tables (seat max 16 persons).Last but not least, although this restaurant is not extravagant, this is a sushi restaurant and can be pricey. Normally one should look at Euro 65 - 100 per person including drinks.

A converted rice barn presents a serene ambience. Clever, innovative lighting separates the tables and layout. The standing and overhanging timber-work is sensational. The staff were wonderfully attentive and each entree option detailed in texture, flavour and presentation. An excellent attraction to Utsunomiya.
A restaurant serving original Japanese cuisine made freely and creatively The word "hideout" best describes our restaurant. Enjoy our warm hospitality and great Japanese food.
