This small, unassuming place is at the foot of the path up to the Inari Shrine. Supposedly it's the most famous eatery in town. The place is run by an old dude and he has modern and like medieval stoves and cooking equipment. He was like sitting in the kitchen reading a magazine when we popped in. The place looks dimly-lit and closed but worry just pop on it it's worth it.Supposed he serves pretty famous sushi. Tsuwano a landlocked town in the middle of nowhere so never thought of sushi. In any case just point to the pictures and food samples outside if your Japanese is rusty.I tried the special sushi and a bowl of Udon. He also serves teshoku aka meal sets that come in a 4 level mini-tower. Each level of the tower contains a different dish. Saw this Japanese tourist ordering it and it looked pretty interesting. His meal took 15 mins to make. Mine which I thought would be easier took a good 30-40 mins. He was literally like an artist int he kitchen and the food tasted wonderful. I mean Udon is Udon right? Wrong this guys Udon was the best I ever had.
