Osaka Japanese Restaurant

A good, reliable place if you feel like having some Japanese food. Despite being the only sushi / Japanese restaurant in a close vicinity, this place offers decent sushi and traditional Japanese fare. The menu size is slightly over average. They do serve beer and wine. This place is quite popular. Service is good, nice people. The only thing is they hurry the payment a bit by bringing the check while you are still eating. Fairly inexpensive compared to similar restaurants.Ask about today's chef's choices!

Recommended by the hotel front desk. It is in a strip mall and the front is not impressive, but the inside is nice. Standard fare of sushi, teryaki and hibachi. Prices are higher than i expected. Soup and salad were generous and tasty. Portions were also large. In all, a good place.

The Tasting Room At Gendron Catering

A small intimate restaurant teasing out the charms of local ingredients!

The Tasting Room at Gendron Catering is an out-of-the-way provincial restaurant deserving of 5 stars. Small, intimate, set back from the road, we didn't know what to expect but as soon as the couple (Chef and Roslyn) introduced themselves we knew we were in good hands. It felt more like dinner friends than a restaurant. But there is nothing informal or ordinary about the food - really marvelous, farm to table, passionate cuisine. It was one of the highlights or our trip.

SushiMakio

Not only are the Sushi dishes at SushiMakio scrumptious on the palate, but each plate is beautifully crafted and presented as edible artwork. This is not your run of the mill fish; the seafood leaving Idesako's kitchen is a study in perfect seasoning, age

To be fair, this is Kingston -- but standing on its own, the sushi was merely very good. Some of the fish was chewy and stringy - a "no-no." In addition, pricing was on the high-end.Hello,I’m sorry to hear about your experience here at SushiMakio. Can you confirm which fish you were not too pleased with? This way we can make sure this doesn’t happen again. Also, the pricing of our menu fits our restaurant model to ensure we can continue operating. Quality control is one of our main priorities, hence my questioning of the fish that you had that was “stringy”. We like to ensure that our customers get the quality they pay for, but in this case there appears to have been a discrepancy.I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
