Nice place with a nice atmosphere, cook as in the teppanyaki tradition preparing food in front of you. Food is good, what is missing is some more choice of wines in case you want to accompany the meat or seafood with a proper wine treat adding some more Western touch to the Japanese cuisine. Side note: the cook is not Japanese.

This is a good value choice for Japanese all you can eat buffet. There is a good range of options- sashimi bar, a number of nigiri and maki which are laid out as well. They also have a hand roll station. There is a carving station for beef , tempura, very good fried rice, a range of Japanese dishes. The dessert area has an extensive range of cakes and sweets , and there is free flow beer and wine along with many soft drinks. The quality is ok, this will not be the best Japanese food you have but it is pretty good overall and you will be satisfied. The value is incredible for what you get, only about 540 NT for adults and 360 for kids under 12.

This is not one of the better Japanese restaurants in Taipei (of which there are many). It is, however, an expensive one. The chairs are also incredibly uncomfortable, much too low for the tables. The noise made conversation very difficult. If you must eat here, the sushi is probably the best thing to order. The salads are not very good (I ordered seafood salad, but there was almost none in the salad). The pseudo-Mexican avocado salad was full of mayonnaise and not good at all. The worst: the mushroom noodles. The service was especially terrible. One member of our group wanted her own order of noodles, ordered from the start. The noodles, which can't take more than five minutes to make, arrived 15 minutes after the group had finished all the other dishes. There were no apologies from the waitstaff.DON'T believe the positive reviews. This is simply bad food and in Taipei there are SO many good restaurants. This simply should not happen. We still had a great time due to the company of a dear friend.Dear Sir, Thank you for your feedback for your visiting. APLUS DININS SAKE BAR has been in business for more than 15 years as one of the popular Japanese fusion food in Taipei City and we take each of our customer feedback seriously. ï¼·e are sorry to hear that our dishes does not suit your taste. However, we believe there is some misunderstanding for your expectation that we have make it clear on our site and name that our restaurant is not position as a fine dining restaurant but a dining bar, therefore our dining ambience maybe lively at the same time. And sorry for letting your friend waiting for her noodle dish, in Japanese dining bar we always have the noodle/hotpot or rice dishes come at last. We would be more than happy to have the dishes come early if any of our guests have let us know while ordering or else we will have it come as our routine. Sincerely yours Aplus Dining Sake Bar

This venue has set menus at NT$699. Generally the standard of food is not bad, however, whilst service is polite it feels rushed. Would I recommend? I suppose there are alternatives to explore I'm Taipei.

Too many reasons for me to come here often, great authentic Japanese food, nice hospitality, very Japanese atmosphere, amazingly beauty that combines nature & many details. It is definitely not easy to change the menu every month, but they do here in Taipei for 8 years & 50 plus years in Tokyo suburban area. The culinary art, the broth & sauce, the art of flower in the restaurant & dishes and authentic omotenasi service bring me back very often. 太å¤åå 常ä¾é裡享åç¾é£ï¼å¾æ£çæ£çµ±æ¥æ¬ç¾é£ãå¾æ£çæåãæ¥æ¬å³çæ°åãè·èªç¶ççµåèå°èé½æçç¾åå¾å¤ç´°ç¯ï¼æ¯åææèä¸å®å¾é£ï¼ä½æ¯ä»åå¨å°ååäºå «å¹´ãæ¥æ¬æ¬åºåäºè¶ éäºåå¹´ï¼å»èã湯é åé¬æãå¨æ¯åç´°ç¯åè§è½çè±èãæ£çµ±çæ¥æ¬æ¬¾å¾ ççé½æ¯è®ææ¯åæä¾çåå ã

Excellent food and service. Itâs always an experience eating at this place. Itâs expensive by Taipei standards but the meats were of outstanding quality, and the service really friendly and efficient. The beef was definitely the highlight but we also had some really fresh locally-sourced veggies, as well as yummy Taiwanese chicken marinated in miso. Booking is extremely difficult - we only managed to score a table out of fluke (thank you for whoever cancelled last minute!) but itâs worth the 3-4 weeksâ advance planning. Will be back - if we manage to book again!

Opened its door on 1965, Umeko Taiwanese Restaurant authentic Taiwanese cuisine serving international guests for over fifty years with top quality produce and the irreplaceable ingredients of pride, tradition, and excellence. Located in Historic Liu Tiao
In principle, Iâd give 4.5 stars as it really is a good restaurant with very friendly waitresses (who even speak a bit of English, especially the elder lady owner)... the only âproblemâ was that I had eaten in the sister restaurant (right opposite) the night before. Dear kla2015Thank you for sharing your "problem" with us and we are delighted that you visited both our Umeko Taiwanese Restaurant and Japanese Restaurant right across the street from each other. There are very few restaurants in Taipei over 50 years of same-owner history, we are very proud of this fact. We also want to THANK YOU for your support and happy that you enjoyed your dinning experiences twice.

We picked out a random place for dinner and this came up. Went on a Sunday evening and it was not crowded - great place to take kids.Ordered Unagi bento sets and the portion was reasonable. Overall very attentive service and the friendly staff would also make effort to engage in small talk. Great vibe and atmosphereThanks, JJHong for your kind review. Also happy to learn that you enjoyed our Unagi bento set. Our Unagi rice are prepared with live eels daily, unlike many places using frozen packs at a lower cost. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Taipei and see you soon. JOHN

Food is excellent and very high quality. May also select more economical sets at lunch time. We selected the set with grilled meat and sukiyaki beef. Meat was cooked to perfection. As the meats are cooked and served at your table, you can enjoy them at the best temperature. Our waitress (and also Chef) Wally is super friendly and cooked the meat very professionally. She explained the cooking method and ingredients very patiently seeing that we are visitors to Taipei. Absolutely a very good place for beef lovers. We will certainly come back.
