Omigosh is this place terrific! So popular, it was packed on a Wednesday night! Fortunately,we had a reservation, so we arrived and were seated promptly. Others had long waits for a table. Check out their website for the current delights on their changing menu of thoughtful farm to table offerings including palate pleasing dishes for both vegetarians and meat/fish eaters. We sampled a variety of small plates including salads, sushi and hot dishes, and chose happily from wide selection of brews on tap. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and thoroughly delicious, Recommendations? Ramen, of course, Yaki of all sorts, salads.

Sushi Tozai is the location where East (to) meets West (zai) as we bring to you the food and flavors of Japan in a classic sushi house decor. We start with fresh seafood that gets delivered to us daily including wild pacific salmon and wild blue fin tuna.
My daughter's favorite restaurant in the whole area, and easy to understand why. This sushi restaurant has extremely fresh seafood and prepares a wide variety of sushi and sashi options, including the longest list of roles I've ever seen. Portions are generous.I've been here many times. On one visit, I'm had to avoid fish and ordered from the noodles and soups, and here, I was less impressed. The Raman was good but needed a more assertive sauce. There was a stir fry of vegetables and tofu that seemed even more bland. But the vegetarian gyoza were yummy.Great selection of saki.I've eaten in plenty of five-star sushi places, and I don't want to portray sushi Tozai that way. They lack the inventiveness and unusual dishes, and those noodle and stir fry dishes weren't great. So if that is your goal, drive to San Francisco. But... if you just want great sushi in a friendly environment, and don't need anything very fancy, plan to stick to sushi, and want everything to be delicious, this is a very good option. Prices are reasonable too.

My husband and I were walking around Sebastopol after arriving in town later one evening, searching for someplace to eat dinner. We walked into Sushi Hana and were seated fairly quickly after being acknowledged. We had walked in and waited nearly 5 minutes while the hostess was looking over lists, etc before she even said hi or looked our way. We had a nice two person table overlooking outside. Our drink and appetizer orders were taken almost immediately but then took longer than expected (especially for water with lemon!) to be received as other tables around us ordered drinks and were served promptly. We ordered our sushi when we had the opportunity thinking that we needed to get our order in to receive them in good timing. We did end up waiting longer than typical for our sushi and others who came after us ordered, ate and left before we got our food. When our order arrived, The sushi was delicious but for water refills we had to ask before the server left the table. Absolutely no complaints on food taste or quality or value, but not sure the wait was totally worth it. After we received our dishes, the server did not come back until another server working nearby saw that we had been waiting a very long time 15-20 minutes after eating for her to return with the bill - even had our card on the table waiting. We paid and left (we tipped a minimum because service was not quality at all but food was delicious!) prices were very reasonable.

Wow, was this good! Spring rolls were very tasty, Curry Chicken was the best I've ever had: veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly, and the sauce was to die for. Cashew Chicken was great and my husband (who doesn't often like mushrooms) LOVED the mushrooms. The brown rice was really well cooked, and even the fortune cookies were fresh! Service was efficient, and even the chef came out to greet us. This is way better than Peter Chu's in Santa Rosa, and even better than the lately lamented China Room. We're lucky to have this place! Pleasant decor; only 10 tables; and yes, they do take out. The chef got two Gold Metals at the Harvest Fair this year.

After visiting Japan my love of high-quality sushi intensified - I was thrilled to discover Sushi Kosho, the best sushi in Sonoma County. The quality of the fish is excellent, the rice spot-on, and the presentation beautiful (although I usually get nigiri so quality is far more important to me than presentation). In addition to the sushi the non-raw items I tried were incredible - the flavors complemented each other perfectly - so this is a great place to come even if someone in your party isnât into sushi, there are a lot of options to chose from and every single one that my group tried was loved from the first bite. The seaweed salad was incredible and had the largest variety of seaweed that Iâve seen in an American restaurant.
