Sakura is a well-located restaurant in one of the most lively areas of Manresa, just a few minutes walking from downtown area and very close to the University district. The atmosphere fits the broader environment with a cool mix of Japanese style (not like the blinding shine of red saturation in a cheap Chinese, but more kind of little touches like traditional food miniatures of sushi and so) and modern minimalism. Pretty nice, warm and welcoming. Service was alright, spot on in terms of efficiency and accuracy but not very charming to be honest. Professional, but a bit too cold. Then you sit in a table with wooden tablecloth and sticks (this is a true Japanese, don't even dare to ask for a fork! - but you may survive using a sort of tweezers provided to the unskilled Westerners) and you have a wide selection of Japanese dishes to chose. It was my first time there, so I can't tell about how often the menu changes, but I found it varied and appealing enough for most people, unless you really can't stand any sort of fish. I went there with a friend, and we ordered a big beautiful fish salad (crispy, nicely seasoned and with a decent amount of tuna and salmon on it) and yakisoba noodles (not specified in the menu but available under request), which we found tender, very well-cocked and pretty delicious. As a main course we shared a big sushi and sashimi platter (see pic below) which came in a gorgeous wooden ship and offered a good range of items and dressings, including all the basics (raw pieces of tuna, salmon and swordfish, a few makis, wasabi horseradish, gari -aka ginger slices- and so...) I won't say too much about desserts since we went for a mainstream ice-cream, but there were a few typical selections in the menu which might not seem to appealing for the Catalan standards -soya and green tea ice-cream? well, maybe another day, thanks... XD- but can give you a reliable taste of Eastern sweets and threats. The wine menu offers a reasonable variety of choices including local drinks. White wine was our choice and probably the wisest pairing for a fish-structured dinner. Finally, the price seemed quite fair since this is not exactly a cheap Asian, but neither the quality of the food can be compared with most of the -rather low- Chinese restaurants you can find in town. Overall, a good place which I would visit again. Thumbs up if you are a sushi lover.

Nice place. It s like a cave with an open ceiling inside. The fish is with a good quality. The service correct. Time dish acceptable. Good deserts.....sashimi tuna is not Toro. Think you are in Manresa. But well cutted. And with a good taste...I do recommend this place

OK it's only end March and it'll get a lot hotter yet but with a strong sun and other resturants full this was a welcome refuge on Friday lunchtime. The food was certainly presented well and appeared to be authentically Japanese. We had the set lunch and it was certainly generous but it was a bit mean with respect to wasabi and ginger. No sure if it was the real McCoy but full marks for trying, including local people in Japanese gear.
