There are many buffet style restaurants in Porto Alegre, but this is one of the best. There is an excellent choice of hot and cold dishes, with the usual concept of one price for as much as you wish to eat. Good atmosphere and efficient service.

Restaurante maravilhoso, o melhor sushi de porto alegre, dirigido por japoneses autênticos. Não acredito que ainda não consta no site...
If you are meat-out in gaucho lands that include Rio Grande do Sul, and fancy some fresh, clean, precise Japanese, then Daimu is the place! Expertly done sashimi and sushi, but tempura is the star! Few other reviews rave about tempura, and rightly so!

The "mercado público" in Porto Alegre downtown area is already a well know city attraction by itself. In the recent years, some companies have expanded from fish trading posts to sushi/sashimi places. Since it has been very sucessfull, others restaurants follow the stream. Seninha is one of them. It's a small restaurant with a very creative sushi man with tastefull creations.

A very nice place to eat Japanese food. As almost all Japanese places, the prices are a little bit salty, but the atmosphere and the enviroment is worth going.

Although the restaurant is a little tucked away, I think it is worth effort to seek it out. I had an excellent Japanese meal, while my steak-loving friend said that his steak was the best he had eaten during his stay in Porto Alegre. That was high praise indeed from such a steak-loving man in a meat-obsessed city, and country (or at least I found it so)!

Really great sushi - a gigantic boat of all sorts of maki temaki sashimi etc. Superbly fresh and tasty. Ask them to put your choices on the boat - tuna salmon white fish whatever, and you can ask them to go easy on the Philadelphia too if it's not your favourite thing about brasilian sushi!Front room is probably the nicest, the middle room has a big TV (really! Why?), and the yard out the back is just that, the yard out the back.Loved the food here, and decent value too (for brasil!) - R150 for a gigantic boat that could have fed 5 or 6. There are smaller selections too. We were 3 and scoffed the lot though ;-)
