My wife hadn't had any tempura in awhile, so I decided to go to Ise. It's an average-size Japanese restaurant not far from our condo in Placentia, CA, a north Orange County suburb of Los Angeles. My people used to meet here regularly for lunch during the 80's and 90's. The food was always good, but they also have excellent service. It's clean and the prices are very reasonable. They have a happy-hour menu which gives you the best value for dishes containing sushi, tempura, and teriyaki chicken or beef, with soup and a generous portion of salad. The seats in the booths are comfortable or you can sit at the sushi bar. There are also a few tables in the area near the sushi bar. The atmosphere was just perfect for us. I'm pretty sure you can request silverware, if you must, but I've never done that at Ise. My wife thanked me for taking her there because I guess I hadn't done so in the past. Such a relaxed atmosphere! They have several big screen TV's showing sports. Some people come in just for drinks. Only minutes away from Disneyland, it's located in a corner of a small shopping center, by Big Lots at the northeast corner of Yorba Linda Blvd,& Rose Drive. If you want to get away from that crowd, get on over to Ise Restaurant in Placentia! You'll be happy you did.
SHUT UP! Stop looking around and eat here! Food is awesome, decor needs some help...but did I mention the food is awesome? This place is a hidden gem. Big sandwiches awesome fusion food, Japanese/American/Korean. The KFB, Kalbi Fusion Bowl is super tasty. Eat here thank me after!
I am a sushi maniac! I love sushi, and I am very picky. This place is definitely worth visiting. It is in the Stater Brother's shopping center. It has a nice atmosphere inside. There are so many unique rolls to choose from, you'll want one of each! Excellent service & friendly staff.

There have been three owners who rad this place, which started four decades ago as "Sengoku,"owned by a father who then turned the place over to a relative to run, who later sold it to the present owner. However, the place is unchanged in four decades in the best way possible. What remains unchanged is that this is really Japanese food, always done just perfectly and with great service and a high commitment to old world craftsmanship and detail. For those of you who may have driven by and noticed the "Sengoku" sign gone, fear not. Go back in. This really is the same place, the same tradition, even many of the same fixtures. Our little bit of authentic Japan is still there in Placentia. I remember going there forty years ago with my Dad; and were he to come back to town, we'd go again! Love this place.

I was really impressed with Orange Roll and Sushi. It's very casual but don't let that fool you. I ordered the Sunset roll and a spicy tuna roll. First, these rolls are huge. The fish was super fresh and the rolls expertly crafted. The folks working there were very welcoming and we're quick to bring out food and to stop by to make sure things were good. I felt very welcome and my business appreciated. As mentioned earlier, it's pretty casual. A great place to eat but not really the kind of place to bring clients. Overall, highly recommended.

I enjoyed our big celebration here at this restaurant, with all of its wonderful authentic Japanese cuisine. He reminds me of when I lived in Japan 20 years ago. The only thing I don't like is that it's kind of loud which is OK because it kind of reminds me also have the Japanese teriyaki houses.

First of all, the staff here is amazing! On the 2nd visit they remembered me from the first one. And no, I didn't cause a scene or anything the first time to make them remember me! Great choices in sashimi and rolls. Chef specials, advertised and unadvertised :-) Reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!

I used to had very similar ramen to this one in Costa Mesa, which it was my favorite one..The ramen was very very good! and the place is very fast serving. Because it is a popular place so there are always customers waiting! That's a very good sign~Only the problem for me is, Fullerton is too far to just go eat ramen.. I hope I will have another chance to be in the town so I can have the ramen again!

Pretty good restaurant, even though it is in a strip mall and I always have very low expectations of restaurants in strip malls. Actually, my expectations are so low that I donât eat in restaurants in strip malls! But if you are staying in scenic (ha!) Brea and you donât have time to drive to a charming old town somewhere, youâre really not left with much choice as far as I can tell.So...we were pleasantly surprised by the food at this restaurant. I had enough roast duck on the plate in my dish to last two meals. Admittedly Iâm not prone to gluttony, however, it was a lot of food. And it was very good to boot! My wife ordered the sushi plate and that was very good also. Oh, and the service was excellent. On the negative side, they only serve tediously boring Japanese beer, which is a bit silly in my opinion given all the wonderful local craft beers available on the West Coast. Câest la vie I suppose. So all-in-all I give this restaurant four stars. In a different location I might even give them five stars, but I could never bring myself to give five stars to a restaurant in a strip mall. Sorry!
