L'Amateur de thes

Probably the best cooked and imagined food I've eaten in a year. The "promenade" menu was perfect for an evening meal (6 dishes) but one of us chose the "traveler" with 8 different dishes. Our second visit to this restaurant, now closer to the center of town, so close to the market that the freshness of the vegetables was palpable. Make sure you call well ahead of time or you will not get a seat. We booked nearly a month ago.

Sozen

This is a buffet style restaurant. That said, the price was reasonable and meant that the food quality is better than a lot of the "all you can eat" places. Not speaking much French, I was left to work it out rally. It's not hard. Starters, either usual nibbles and dim sum. Or, sushi, you choose, or both? Plenty of mains, or choose to have your ingredients stir fried while you wait, simples. Well worth a visit, especially if staying at the Ibis Budget hotel, it's a real easy walk.

You Sushi

This little restaurant looks very inviting from the outside and I've been wanting to go here for a while. Inside it is no different, the fresh and light decor is very pleasant and comfortable. The menu offers a great range of small plates of sushi and sashimi, but they also offer a number of "variety platters" meant for sharing. We chose the "box you and me" at 41€ which contained sushi:6p salmon and avocado, 6p fresh prawn, 6p cream cheese, 2p sushi prawn, sashimi: 2p cod, 2p tuna, 2p salmon, 1/2 mixed sashimi and paired this with some miso soup (included in the price). This was plenty of food for the two of us and everything tasted very nice and fresh. The service was kind and efficient and overall we had a very enjoyable lunch. the one small criticism I have is that for a lunch time meal (including drinks and coffee) we spent 53€, which wasn't bad value but is more than the 10-20€ stated above
