Komorebi is a modern Japanese restaurant owned by Italian, with the difference of those owned by Chinese. Given that there are just a few authentic Japanese owned restaurants in Rome, and I do not trust eating raw fish in Chinese owned eatery, this restaurant is a good alternative for enjoying raw, fresh grouper and sea bass. The location is fantastic as it is next to the pedestrian zone of Ostia, where all restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors, pastry shops, and entertainment located. The ambiance is soft and relaxing. The waitstaff was attentive but not expert. We ordered 3 appetizers then some rolls and sushi. One appetizer came first and then 2 sushi and rolls and then last the other 2 appetizers. But after all, the fish was really fresh, which deserved 5 stars but the sushi rice was not of the real Japanese sushi rice but Italian arborio and they fell apart. I would come back to the restaurant as the quality of food are very good and the place is pleasant.

I often get sushi here either for take away or for dine in. I love the wide selection offered and the lovely and cosy atmosphere. I highly recommend this cute little place.
